Learn from at least a dozen Christian Olympic gold-medal winners and Olympic contenders who tell their inspirational stories of finding God along their roads to glory. Experience the sweat and passion that goes into the making of a world-class athlete, while learning of these Christians' ultimate goals as competitive athletes and servants of God. For sixty days, plunge into each athlete's most personal moments at the games through each chapter's combination of worship, praise, and evangelism. Run, jump, and dive into these athletic experiences that reveal the role of friendship and the necessity of hard work as they teach the concepts of dedication and sacrifice. Learn of these athletes' preparation, pre-competition thoughts, faith, and how each athlete has placed his or her dependence on God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These words were spoken by Marcus Tullius Cicero, a Roman philosopher, over two thousand years ago. What meanings do they carry over to the American people today? The United States of America has been called the melting pot of the world. A more accurate description, in my opinion, is a large jar of mixed marbles. The American citizen of African descent has been in America longer and has done more for America than most other ethnic groups. Yet we are attacked, lambasted, demonized, inhumanely abused, reviled, lied to, and lied about, more than all other ethnic groups combined. We have been subjugated to eating the guts of animals that the other ethnic groups throw away and the greens, roots, and dandelions that grew wild in the fields. This, along with being assailed with rules, regulations, laws, and practices are designed to keep us down and deprived. Yet, we continue to prevail. Today, as a people, we are at a crossroad in our lives. In order to make the best decisions for our prosperity, we must uncover our gloried past that was systematically kept from us. This will better enable us to better understand and answer the why questions of today, thereby being able to come up with more appropriate directions for our tomorrows. This is why I pause to write! Young people you are our hope. We cannot go forward without you. Search your past, share your stories (in writing), bring out the commonalities we share, and encourage each other with a singleness of purpose as you take us forward.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Born to an African American father and Japanese mother, Frederick D. Kakinami Cloyd, the narrator of Dream of the Water Children, finds himself not only to be a marginalized person by virtue of his heritage, but often a cultural drifter, as well. Indeed, both his family and his society treat him as if he doesn't entirely belong to any world. Tautly written in spare, clear poetic prose, this memoir explores the specific contours of Japanese and African American cultures, as well as the broader experience of biracial and multicultural identity. To tell his story, Cloyd incorporates photographs and Japanese writing, history, and memory to convey both rich personal experience and significant historical detail. Bringing together vivid memories with a perceptive cultural eye, Dream of the Water Children brings readers closer to a biracial experience, opening up our understanding of the cultural richness and social challenges people from diverse backgrounds face.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: According to Rami Elias Kremesti, nothing in life is worse than living in ignorance... After many years of living in depression, fear, anxiety, hate and confusion, the author feels he is finally emancipated and enlightened and wants to bring a taste of this sweetness to the reader... In his third book, he talks about the accomplishments of the Jewish people, the same people that were and are still demonized in his home country of Lebanon. Rami was lucky he was able to escape from the toxic milieu of Lebanon after the end of the civil war. Instead of East, he went to the decadent “West” where paradoxically, he tasted the truth in the poetry of Rumi in Los Angeles, which was his home for about six years. There he also met some Jewish people that became his lifelong loyal friends. As Rumi puts it, his soul caught fire... He discovered the meaning of loving one’s enemy and turning the other cheek... You see dear reader, when one tastes divine love, all pettiness, anger, and attachment dissolves... One starts to see unity instead of division... All religions, one praise, as Rumi puts it...In his first book, The Other Cheek of Islam, he reached out to his Muslim brothers. In his second book, For Love of the Sacred Awe, he talks about beauty and aesthetic. In his third one he reaches out to his Jewish brothers.
