However, when she is offered a job as a punisher in the kingdom of Lust, she refuses. Unfortunately for her, no one says no to the Devil. Unsatisfied with her decision, Lucifer kidnaps her brother and hides him in the land of Purgatory, a realm where tormented souls face their trials and retribution. Seraphina with the help of Killian, a family friend and mentor, must journey between the realms in order to retrieve her brother and bring him back safely. Can Killian restrain himself from falling in love with her and hide the horrors of his past when she can read his every thought? Can Seraphina focus on her mission when the heart's desire is right by her side, as he lustfully gazes upon her? With danger at every corner and immortal creatures lurking in the shadows, is it safer to dance with the Devil? Or risk fighting the monsters that reside between Heaven and Hell?

Book excerpt: The follow-up book to the popular, ?Inside Heaven and Hell, ? comes the equivalent of a guided tour of God's holy penitential world where human spirits are purified and thereby prepared for entry into Paradise. Dr. Petrisko directs onto his subject many a spotlight coming from various authorities down the Christian centuries ? popes, theologians, saints, mystics, visionaries and the Blessed Mother. Together their insights and testimonies present a rounded picture of that mysterious realm of purgatorial pain and prayer, which can be likened to Heaven's vestibule lying beyond this world. Readers will find an abundance of information about Purgatory, while at the same time plenty of inspiration and encouragement to become more Purgatory minded; that is, generous in offering spiritual succour and support to the Holy Souls.

Well over half of young adults raised in the Church have dropped out with many having a strong anti-Church stance, many even believing the Church does more harm than good.Fr. Josh Johnson was one of these people. In Broken and Blessed he tackles the harsh realities facing the Church in the 21st century. With charity and courage he speaks to his own generation of Catholic “Millennials,” who often feel their needs and concerns are not being addressed by the Church, or who simply do not believe the Catholic Faith has any relevance to their lives. Using his own experiences, both as a former struggling young Catholic and as a priest, Fr. Josh offers an inspiring witness of how he came to know God, rather than just knowing about him—and presents practical ways for us to truly know God as well. Broken and Blessed: Addresses head-on Millennials’ most pressing issues with the Catholic Faith Presents powerful and inspiring stories from Fr. Josh’s own faith journey Shows how one can truly encounter Jesus in a personal way Offers practical insights on how to overcome habitual sins Discusses the nature of prayer, as well as the challenges to prayer and how to overcome them

Book excerpt: Visions of Purgatory offers a surprisingly sober and clear account of purgatory that offers more consolation than fear before this great mystery of God’s mercy. Translated from French, the text was written in the latter half of the twentieth century by an anonymous author and contains a private revelation of purgatory with annotations from the Magisterium of the Church and the teachings of the saints, above all St. Thomas Aquinas. It is organized into three parts: the first part explains the role of private revelations and how to gain profit from them; the second part contains doctrinal teachings that form a kind of treatise on purgatory; the third and final part is dedicated to revelations of souls in purgatory. Details concerning the life of the author have been omitted in order to maintain the author’s anonymity.

Book excerpt: After a week of hearing ghostly noises, a man is visited in his home by the spirit of his mother, dead for three decades. She reproaches him for his dissolute life and begs him to have Masses said in her name. Then she lays her hand on his sleeve, leaving an indelible burn mark, and departs... A Lutheran minister, no believer in Purgatory, is the puzzled recipient of repeated visitations from "demons" who come to him seeking prayer, consolation, and refuge in his little German church. But pity for the poor spirits overcomes the man's skepticism, and he marvels at what kind of departed souls could belong to Christ and yet suffer still... Hungry Souls recounts these stories and many others trustworthy, Church-verified accounts of earthly visitations from the dead in Purgatory. Accompanying these accounts are images from the "Museum of Purgatory" in Rome, which contains relics of encounters with the Holy Souls, including numerous evidences of hand prints burned into clothing and books; burn marks that cannot be explained by natural means or duplicated by artificial ones. Book excerpt: In Roman Catholic theology, Purgatory is an intermediate state after physical death in which some of those ultimately destined for heaven must first "undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven," holding that "certain offenses can be forgiven in this age, but certain others in the age to come." And that entrance into Heaven requires the "remission before God of the temporal punishment due to [venial] sins whose guilt has already been forgiven," for which indulgences may be given which remove "either part or all of the temporal punishment due to sin," such as an "unhealthy attachment" to sin. Only those who die in the state of grace but have not yet fulfilled the temporal punishment due to their sin can be in Purgatory, and therefore no one in Purgatory will remain forever in that state nor go to hell. The notion of Purgatory is associated particularly with the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church (in the Eastern sui juris churches or rites it is a doctrine, though it is not often called "Purgatory", but the "final purification" or the "final theosis"); Anglicans of the Anglo-Catholic tradition generally also hold to the belief. Eastern Orthodox Churches believe in the possibility of a change of situation for the souls of the dead through the prayers of the living and the offering of the Divine Liturgy, and many Orthodox, especially among ascetics, hope and pray for a general apocatastasis. Judaism also believes in the possibility of after-death purification and may even use the word "purgatory" to present its understanding of the meaning of Gehenna. However, the concept of soul "purification" may be explicitly denied in these other faith traditions. The word Purgatory has come to refer also to a wide range of historical and modern conceptions of postmortem suffering short of everlasting damnation, and is used, in a non-specific sense, to mean any place or condition of suffering or torment, especially one that is temporary.

Book excerpt: Since the beginning, the Angels have always been there, protecting us and keeping balance in the world. They have always guarded the Earth by protecting the veil, the boundary that separates the reality of the living from the realms of the afterlife. It is a sacred duty they will do anything to uphold, even live in secret among us. In a future controlled by the oppressive Hierarchy and constantly being infiltrated by supernatural forces from beyond, a group of Angels works to preserve balance in a world where the helpless and weak pray for a miracle. It is an era of trial for all beings, the era of a Purgatory Dynasty.

God calls together a war council to plan a three prong war to end all evil on Earth and in hell, while protecting Heaven itself. God's goal is to offer forgiveness for those devils, demons and evil Souls to repent and seek forgiveness from God for all their sinful deeds. God also intends to offer Lucifer this same offer. All devils, demons and evil Souls who want to come back to the light of God will be forgiven and allowed entrance into Heaven. Those Devils, demons, and evil Souls who refuse God's offer will be immediately destroyed. One of God's armies will protect Heaven while the war begins on Earth and in Hell. A second army of various types of Angels will coordinate the attack on Earth. When Earth is conquered, a third of an extremely trained and powerful army will attack the gates of Hell and begin the destruction of each level of Hell. God orders that Lucifer is not to be killed or severely injured until His special envoy can deliver God's personal message. The special envoy God selected was "Mallory of the Angels". An angel loved second only to Jesus. An Angel of love and forgiveness. This special envoywould require exteme protection while in Hell. Three Angel Generals were selected for this chore, Solrac, Samot, and Noel. When Hell is in the hands of God's forces, Lucifer is captured and brought to Mallory of the Angels. She then proceeds to explain God's offer for forgiveness or for destruction. Luicifer is given a moment to choose.
