Book Synopsis Thermal Hydraulics by : Maurizio Cumo
Download or read book Thermal Hydraulics written by Maurizio Cumo and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-01-18 with total page 157 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This text, including the description of the most relevant phenomenologies and of some advanced techniques in heat transfer with fluids, is mainly aimed at engineers using design or computer analysis programs and codes, in order to achieve a deeper understanding of the phenomenologies and of the applied analysis methods. This text will be helpful to people engaged in developing original computer programs or design methods, because they may find in it basic information on the computer program-oriented solutions of the conservation equations and of the various flow and heat transfer mechanisms. The selection of up-to-date correlations in various heat and mass transfer branches represents, for the designers using traditional techniques, a helpful instrument to integrate the basic handbooks. The trial of representing phenomenologies and problems through elementary concepts makes this text useful to students at the graduate level involved in the study of fluid flow and heat transfer.

Book Synopsis Sonochemistry and Sonoluminescence by : L.A. Crum
Download or read book Sonochemistry and Sonoluminescence written by L.A. Crum and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-11 with total page 416 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sonochemistry is studied primarily by chemists and sonoluminescence mainly by physicists, but a single physical phenomenon - acoustic cavitation - unites the two areas. The physics of cavitation bubble collapse, is relatively well understood by acoustical physicists but remains practically unknown to the chemists. By contrast, the chemistry that gives rise to electromagnetic emissions and the acceleration of chemical reactions is familiar to chemists, but practically unknown to acoustical physicists. It is just this knowledge gap that the present volume addresses. The first section of the book addresses the fundamentals of cavitation, leading to a more extensive discussion of the fundamentals of cavitation bubble dynamics in section two. A section on single bubble sonoluminescence follows. The two following sections address the new scientific discipline of sonochemistry, and the volume concludes with a section giving detailed descriptions of the applications of sonochemistry. The mixture of tutorial lectures and detailed research articles means that the book can serve as an introduction as well as a comprehensive and detailed review of these two interesting and topical subjects.

Book Synopsis Fundamentals of Multiphase Heat Transfer and Flow by : Amir Faghri
Download or read book Fundamentals of Multiphase Heat Transfer and Flow written by Amir Faghri and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2019-09-13 with total page 820 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This textbook presents a modern treatment of fundamentals of heat and mass transfer in the context of all types of multiphase flows with possibility of phase-changes among solid, liquid and vapor. It serves equally as a textbook for undergraduate senior and graduate students in a wide variety of engineering disciplines including mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, material science and engineering, nuclear engineering, biomedical engineering, and environmental engineering. Multiphase Heat Transfer and Flow can also be used to teach contemporary and novel applications of heat and mass transfer. Concepts are reinforced with numerous examples and end-of-chapter problems. A solutions manual and PowerPoint presentation are available to instructors. While the book is designed for students, it is also very useful for practicing engineers working in technical areas related to both macro- and micro-scale systems that emphasize multiphase, multicomponent, and non-conventional geometries with coupled heat and mass transfer and phase change, with the possibility of full numerical simulation.
