En este libro se presentan las bases de la metodología numérica que se emplea en el estudio computacional de la Mecánica de Fluidos en el ámbito de la Ingeniería. Se aborda el desarrollo de esta metodología mostrando cómo se implementan y se resuelven las ecuaciones de conservación (masa, momento y energía) desde los casos más sencillos y simplificados hasta su formulación más general. El ambicioso objetivo que se persigue es que el lector adquiera los conocimientos y habilidades suficientes para desarrollar sus propios códigos, proporcionándole una visión integral de las técncas CFD para que pueda comprender qué es lo que ofrecen los paquetes comerciales y cómo se entiende el CFD, tanto desde el punto de vista del usuario como del programador avanzado.

Magma dynamics leading to unrest phenomena 4. Bridging the gap between science and decision-making Volcanic unrest is a complex multi-hazard phenomenon. The fact that unrest may, or may not lead to an imminent eruption contributes significant uncertainty to short-term volcanic hazard and risk assessment. Although it is reasonable to assume that all eruptions are associated with precursory activity of some sort, the understanding of the causative links between subsurface processes, resulting unrest signals and imminent eruption is incomplete. When a volcano evolves from dormancy into a phase of unrest, important scientific, political and social questions need to be addressed.
