Dabei spielt es erst einmal keine grosse Rolle, welche Nationen und Kulturen genau sich hier treffen. Da kann ein Chinese sich in eine Amerikanerin verlieben oder ein Dane trifft seine Traumfrau aus dem Kongo - egal Es ist sehr wahrscheinlich, dass sich in diesen Konstellationen spezifische Problemfelder finden lassen, die aus einer fremden Religion, fremden Sprache, fremden Mimik, fremden Essgewohnheit, aus fremden Verstandigungsregeln oder einem fremden Aussehen resultieren. Naturlich wird man sich im Laufe einer Partnerschaft naher kommen, vieles kennen lernen und plotzlich wird das Fremde vertraut sein. Doch bleibt immer die Schwierigkeit, standig neu zu definieren, wo genau man steht und immer wieder etwas Unbekanntes treffen zu konnen und sich darauf einstellen zu mussen. So lebt man oft zwischen zwei Kulturen, mit verschiedenen Vorstellungen, Erwartungen, Erfahrungen, Denkmustern und Hintergrunden, deren Annaherung doch schwer fallt und langsam passiert.
