Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This novel, Surrender Tomorrow, is about a long bus trip where people are shown who they really are. They are upwardly mobile blacks who do not always make the best decisions. One of the main characters is Francois, who has one foot in the crime world and the other in the legit one. Francois has family that he has to impress, like his father, back home in Orlando, Florida, who look up to him. However, the mob is chasing him, and they are curious bunch with funny names like Cool Breeze from the old Blaxploitation movies from the seventies. And there is Surrender Tomorrow herself, who is a real woman, but you are never sure if she is not mobbed up. This novel started out by being a book of short stories. Right when you think you figured out who Francoiss father is and his involvement with a young woman, you get pulled right back into the caper. It is a ride of sorts that, when you read about crimes happening, one seldom guesses the characters. These are the characters, and they are a comical bunch. It goes to show how Francoiss family comes to grips with having a son who might be doing the wrong thing and traditional folkways of new immigrants migrating to America. For some people, they are willing to risk all for love, others money.

Book excerpt: SURRENDER is a mesmerizing psychological thriller from extraordinary novelist Sonya Hartnett. I am dying: it’s a beautiful word. Like the long slow sigh of a cello: dying. But the sound of it is the only beautiful thing about it. As life slips away, Gabriel looks back over his brief twenty years, which have been clouded by frustration and humiliation. A small, unforgiving town and distant, punitive parents ensure that he is never allowed to forget the horrific mistake he made as a child. He has only two friends - his dog, Surrender, and the unruly wild boy, Finnigan, a shadowy doppelganger with whom the meek Gabriel once made a boyhood pact. But when a series of arson attacks grips the town, Gabriel realizes how unpredictable and dangerous Finnigan is. As events begin to spiral violently out of control, it becomes devastatingly clear that only the most extreme measures will rid Gabriel of Finnigan for good.

When Kevin is assigned to serve in Iraq, Jenna struggles with loneliness and resentment at his lengthy absence. This is not the life she wanted. With the support of other military wives and much prayer, Jenna tries to accept this new reality in her marriage. Things grow even more complicated for Jenna and her parents when a mysterious young woman named Skylar shows up at their home, the Hacienda Hideaway. When Skylar's past finally catches up with her, she puts the Beaumonts at risk not only of broken hearts, but of something even more dangerous. As the Beaumonts grow in their love for God and each other, they learn that sometimes the best way to reconcile relationships is by surrendering control.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Surrender series revolves around a club in Seattle, Washington. The heroes in this series are wealthy men who find the perfect women to enrich their lives. This box set includes books 10-12. Rewarding Avery: Avery I’ve known I’m a middle for a long time. It’s why I got divorced. I needed something…more. What I need is an older, sophisticated, stern man. What I don’t need is my much younger, smoking-hot neighbor to mow my lawn. The man’s a personal trainer. His muscles have muscles. I’m much too old for him and not at all his type—fit. And yet, he has the audacity to ask me out. He’s coming over tonight. Why on earth did I agree to this? Andrew I’ve had my eye on Avery for two years. She’s cute, youthful, and adorable. She’s also independent, and she likes to stomp her feet when I help her. It’s time to take a chance and ask her out. Since she thinks she owes me for mowing her lawn, she can make me dinner. I should not be shocked to find out she’s a Middle. And I’m far from disappointed. I just need to convince her to give this younger guy a chance. Impressing Brett: Lacy My childhood was not ideal. My mom died when I was twelve. My father didn’t want me. He forced me to grow up before I was ready. And then he tried to coerce me to marry against my will. I had two options; I chose to walk away and never look back. It’s been ten years; my father’s sudden death means little to me. I don’t even care that he cut me out of his will. Except maybe he didn’t. Brett I’ve known Lacy for a long time. I’ve always been attracted to her, but she’s not Little. She’s in trouble though. Someone tried to burn down her apartment building. She needs a place to stay. And…I was wrong about her. She might not know what it means yet, but she is Little. She needs protection too. Someone is following her. They’ll never get their hands on her because she’s mine. Guiding Cassandra: Cassandra I’m a horrible secretary. I can’t even get my boss’s coffee right. It’s not my fault he scrambles my brain. Plus, I haven’t slept well in weeks. My brother is in trouble. When I’m inevitably fired, I need a way to get money. Turns out I have something valuable to sell. Now, I just need to go through with it. Spence Cassandra is the reason I come into the office. I own the company; I can work from home. But, she’s too adorable for words. She’s also terrible at her job. When she gets fired without my knowledge, Ben follows her. What is the naughty Little girl up to? It’s going to take more than one man to rein her in. But we will because she’s ours. Benjamin I’ve had my eyes on Cassandra for months. But so has my boss and best friend, Spence. So I keep my mouth shut and my mind focused. My job is to protect Spence. Until I’m assigned to protect Cassandra too. When I find out what she has planned, I lose my mind. She definitely needs a keeper. Thank goodness she now has two.

Mark David Gerson never wanted to be a writer, never believed in a world beyond that of his five senses. But when life began to chip away at his identity with a relentlessness that he couldn't ignore, he found himself launched on a spiritual journey that would redefine everything about him – multiple times. It was a journey of surrender that ultimately birthed a timeless fantasy series...and a new life he could never have imagined. "A dynamic read for the creative spirit within each of us. Positive inspiration at its best." – Hank Bruce, author of Peace Beyond All Fear: A Tribute to John Denver's Vision "I don’t know anyone who has regularly risked more, given up more, to be a writer." – William Reichard, author of Evertime "My life, as you will discover, has been rocky, on-the-edge and unconventional. It has been scary, disrupted and a distant remove from what most people still cling to as 'security.' It has also been creative, exhilarating, passion-filled, vibrant, exciting, adventurous and enriching. It has pushed me beyond the boundaries of what I believe and what I believe I want, and it has propelled me beyond the frontiers of the conventionally possible. In every moment, it steers me on a course that I could never consciously chart for myself. In every breath, it reminds me that the story knows best -- the story I'm living as much as the story I'm writing."

Book excerpt: An empowering guide to the gift of singleness that will help you leave shame in the past and let go of anxiety about the future in order to thrive today—from a thirtysomething single pastor who understands that the struggle is real. “Raw, relatable, and encouraging.”—New York Times bestselling author Granger Smith Ryan Wekenman has been an unmarried pastor for over a decade. He’s heard all the usual questions: “Are you dating anyone? Any wedding plans in the future?” But he knows the real question they’re asking is, “Hey, do you think you’ll be single for the rest of your life?” Ryan believes that singleness isn’t a curse to endure. Rather, it’s a gift to enjoy, even if at times it can be hard to see it that way. But he has discovered firsthand—and from hundreds of meetings with other single people—that we are often consumed by regrets or shame from the past, together with worry or fear of the future, making it feel impossible to find peace in the present. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Single Today shares Ryan’s perceptive anecdotes, thought-provoking questions, biblical insight, and disarming humor as he invites you into his journey of learning to fully embrace his current reality. Single Today will encourage you to • gain practical tools to help handle the annoying and uncomfortable situations single people get placed in • learn how to talk to family and friends about your singleness with confidence • practice opening your heart and embracing true intimacy • stop believing your marital status is keeping you stuck • start living the full and abundant life available today No amount of shame will change the past, and no amount of worry will fix the future, but with a little faith and work, you can start thriving today.

We hardly ever ask ourselves this question because, to say the least, we take or eyes for granted. I, like most people, had never thought about it until 11th January 2008. My mother came to wake me up that morning and asked what I was still doing in bed and confidently I replied, It is still dark outside Mum. She told me it was 8am and the sun was shining bright (a typical African morning!). I rubbed my eyes, opened them wider and yelled out, I cant see! I cant see! That was the beginning of a long journey through darkness.
