Book excerpt: You're whaaaaaat?" You're going where? When my therapist is on vacation, I see it as a huge interruption and inconvenience in my process. A different or more constructive attitude would be to think of this as an opportunity. Based on personal experiences, WHILE MY THERAPIST IS ON VACATION, presents an easy to understand format. You will find tools to help you get through the most difficult time in therapy - a therapist's absence. Learning our therapist is taking a vacation can be a catalyst to backsliding behavior. Everything can take on a negative orientation. During this time, we can make choices to look inside ourselves and practice the skills we have learned in therapy or linger anxiously until the therapist returns. WHILE MY THERAPIST IS ON VACATION addresses some time honored therapeutic statements, perspective and worksheets to help you through until the therapist returns. I hope you find this book helpful. In this book, May describes in detail how succeed in anything that you set out to do in life, whether your goal is to become a successful businessperson, a successful woman or a successful adult entertainer. It is important to note that adult entertainment is neither porn nor prostitution – adult entertainers do not engage in sex for money – they make their living by selling a fantasy. Women from all walks of life can learn to use the selling of this fantasy in order to get ahead. Additionally, businesspeople can use the sales techniques outlined in this book in order to succeed further and close every deal. So read about how to hunt and capture your prey, have a “happy hunting” and not a “happy ending”.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores the phenomenon of pole dancing as an increasingly popular fitness and leisure activity for women. It moves beyond previous debates surrounding the empowering or degrading nature of pole dancing classes, and instead explores the complexities of these concepts and highlights that women participating in this practice cannot be seen as one dimensional. Femininity, Feminism and Recreational Pole Dancing explores the construction, negotiation and presentation of a gendered and classed identity and self through participation in pole dancing, the meaning of pole dancing as a fitness practice for women, and the concepts of community and friendship as developed through classes. Using empirical research, the book uncovers the stories and experiences of the women who participate in these classes, and examines what the mainstreaming of this type of sexualised dance means for the women who practice it. Pole dancing is shown to be a practice in which female identities are negotiated, performed and enacted and this book positions pole dancing as an activity which both reinforces but also presents some challenge to ideas of feminism and femininity for the women that participate. Women's participation in pole dancing is described in a discourse of choice and control, yet this book argues that the decision to participate is somewhat constructed by the advertising of these classes as enabling women to create a particular desirable self, which is perpetuated throughout our culture as the ‘ideal’. Exploring the ways in which women attempt to manage impressions and present themselves as ‘respectable’, the book examines how women wish to dis-identify with both women who work as strippers and women who are feminist, seeing both identities as contradictory to the feminine image that they pursue. The book explores the capacity of these classes to offer women some feelings of agency but challenges the idea that participating in pole dancing can offer collective empowerment. The book ultimately argues that women’s participation can be viewed both in terms of their active engagement and enjoyment of these classes and in terms of the structures and pressures which continue to shape their lives. This timely publication explores the complexity of the pole dancing phenomenon and highlights a range of questions surrounding this activity as a leisure form. It will be a valuable contribution to those interested in women’s and gender studies, cultural studies, feminism, sociology and leisure studies.

Book excerpt: “Honey, you are 300 sandwiches away from an engagement ring.” When New York Post writer Stephanie Smith made a turkey and Swiss on white bread for her boyfriend, Eric (aka E), he took one bite and uttered those now-famous words. While her beau’s declaration initially seemed unusual, even antiquated, Stephanie accepted the challenge and got to work. Little did she know she was about to cook up the sexiest and most controversial love story of her generation. 300 Sandwiches is the story of Stephanie and E’s epic journey of bread and betrothal, with a whole loaf of recipes to boot. For Stephanie, a novice in the kitchen, making a sandwich—or even 300—for E wasn’t just about getting a ring; it was her way of saying “I love you” while gaining confidence as a chef. It was about how many breakfast sandwiches they could eat together on future Sunday mornings, how many s’mores might follow family snowboarding trips, how many silly fights would end in makeup sandwiches. Suddenly, she saw a lifetime of happiness between those two slices of bread. Not everyone agreed. The media dubbed E “the Internet’s Worst Boyfriend”; bloggers attacked the loving couple for setting back the cause of women’s rights; opinions about their romance echoed from as far away as Japan. Soon, Stephanie found her cooking and her relationship under the harsh glare of the spotlight. From culinary twists on peanut butter and jelly to “Not Your Mother’s Roast Beef” spicy French Dip to Chicken and Waffle BLTs, Stephanie shares the creations—including wraps, burritos, paninis, and burgers—that ultimately sated E’s palate and won his heart. Part recipe book, part girl-meets-boy memoir, 300 Sandwiches teaches us that true love always wins out—one delicious bite at a time.

It may be you have an acquaintance, a friend or girlfriend you think would like to have a fun experience. When you choose to do a strip show, always remember others' limits. That they must be respected, just as he or she must respect your boundaries. Whoever we are as a people, whether we are men or women, so we enjoy how others think of us and put us in the center of their lives. The same joy goes when we are talking about getting a strip show or doing one. I am about to make sure that the person you have chosen to get the experience to be in the center of this experience. People will love that is being done something extra for them as you give them this experience. My desire with this book is to give an insight into, what it means to be a stripper and what underlies into a strip show. It is not intended that you should throw yourself into this profession, but more as something to refresh your relationship with. And you'll even get experience of being the star of the evening with the magic associated with it.

Book excerpt: “Evocative…The Emperor of Shoes underscores the extent to which the promise of economic opportunity still moves people across great distances on our planet…Wise [has] written a novel of our times…”—New York Times Book Review *A Library Journal Best Debut of Summer 2018* From an exciting new voice in literary fiction, a transfixing story about an expatriate in southern China and his burgeoning relationship with a seamstress intent on inspiring dramatic political change Alex Cohen, a twenty-six-year-old Jewish Bostonian, is living in southern China, where his father runs their family-owned shoe factory. Alex reluctantly assumes the helm of the company, but as he explores the plant’s vast floors and assembly lines, he comes to a grim realization: employees are exploited, regulatory systems are corrupt and Alex’s own father is engaging in bribes to protect the bottom line. When Alex meets a seamstress named Ivy, his sympathies begin to shift. She is an embedded organizer of a pro-democratic Chinese party, secretly sowing dissonance among her fellow laborers. Will Alex remain loyal to his father and his heritage? Or will the sparks of revolution ignite? Deftly plotted and vibrantly drawn, The Emperor of Shoes is a timely meditation on idealism, ambition, father-son rivalry and cultural revolution, set against a vivid backdrop of social and technological change.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I had amazing years of experience in night life working as an exotic dancer, that made me who I am today and shaped my opinion about men and relationships. During my work I have realized, lots of men don't know how to treat a dancer, this points to the fact that lots of men don't know how to treat a woman. This current book is about certain situations and how men behave in clubs, I wrote it with openness and honesty. The main idea was while the whole world is judgemental towards strippers, nobody really talks about those men, who resort to our service. The book is basically a bunch of my stories about strip clubs, but focusing on the behaviour of the average customers.
