Book Synopsis Stepping Stones for the Heart by : Ann M. Paulson
Download or read book Stepping Stones for the Heart written by Ann M. Paulson and published by BalboaPress. This book was released on 2012-05-22 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This true story began eleven years before Ann Paulson was ready to share the startling experiences that occurred over the next year and left her flabbergasted. Considering herself an ordinary Christian, she always believed there must be a heaven, but she never gave much thought to the idea that she had lived before. Then she began a very personal friendship with Jeshua, who the world knows a Jesus. Jeshua used Ann Paulsons past lives to show her how Gods love accepts us as we are and flows through the ages in events and people, no matter who they are. The author found the things she was learning difficult, but she became curious enough to keep listening and do her own research. She shares her exciting discoveries about our changing times and the school we each attend when we are born to this life. Stepping Stones for the Heart is a comfortable reminder that Gods love is available to us whether we believe it or not, and that Jeshua and wise angels are always with us to help us along the way. Ann Paulsons obedience to some insistent angels gives all of us the chance to learn more about why we are here and how we can do the most with our lives.

Book Synopsis Creativity and Learning in Later Life by : Shari Sabeti
Download or read book Creativity and Learning in Later Life written by Shari Sabeti and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-11-03 with total page 183 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Creativity and Learning in Later Life examines how processes such as ‘creativity’ and ‘inspiration’ are experienced by writers who engage with the visual arts, and questions how age is perceived in relation to these processes. The author’s careful analysis challenges many of the assumptions on which museum education currently operates, contributing to wider debates surrounding the value of arts and cultural heritage education. Containing detailed descriptions of museum tours, viewers’ engagements with specific artworks, and the processes of creative writing and editing that result from such encounters, the book draws on a ground-breaking study to challenge the way in which the value of education and creative activity for older adult learners has been conceptualized in existing literature. It also demonstrates how learners adapt and subvert the intended pedagogies to suit their own needs and accommodate their ageing selves. Drawing on a spectrum of disciplines including education, anthropology, art history, sociology, museum studies and the practice and theory of creative writing, this book will be of interest to academics, postgraduate students, and researchers in a range of fields, as well museum practitioners, creative writing teachers and those working in adult and community education settings.

Clarke Award-winning author of Children of Time. WELCOME TO HELL CITY, MARS Jimmy Martin has a sore head. He's used to smuggling illegal data in his headspace. But this is the first time it has started talking to him. The data claims to be a distinguished academic, author and civil rights activist. It also claims to be a bear. A bear named Honey. Jimmy has nothing against bioforms – he's one himself, albeit one engineered out of human stock – and works with them everyday in Hell City, building the future, staking mankind's claim to a new world: Mars. The problem is that humanity isn't the only entity with designs on the Red Planet. Out in the airless desert there is another presence. A novel intelligence, elusive, unknowable and potentially lethal. And Honey is here to make contact with it, whether Jimmy likes it or not. Book Synopsis Writings on Art and Literature by : Sigmund Freud
Download or read book Writings on Art and Literature written by Sigmund Freud and published by Stanford University Press. This book was released on 1997 with total page 324 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite Freud's enormous influence on twentieth-century interpretations of the humanities, there has never before been in English a complete collection of his writings on art and literature. These fourteen essays cover the entire range of his work on these subjects, in chronological order beginning with his first published analysis of a work of literature, the 1907 "Delusion and Dreams in Jensen's Gradiva" and concluding with the 1940 posthumous publication of "Medusa's Head." Many of the essays included in this collection have been crucial in contemporary literary and art criticism and theory. Among the subjects Freud engages are Shakespeare's Hamlet, The Merchant of Venice, King Lear, and Macbeth, Goethe's Dichtung und Wahrheit, Michelangelo's Moses, E. T. A. Hoffman's "The Sand Man," Dostoevsky's The Brothers Karamazov, fairy tales, the effect of and the meaning of beauty, mythology, and the games of aestheticization. All texts are drawn from The Standard Edition of the Complete Psychological Works of Sigmund Freud, edited by James Strachey. The volume includes the notes prepared for that edition by the editor. In addition to the writings on Jensen's Gradiva and Medusa, the essays are: "Psychopathic Characters on the Stage," "The Antithetical Meaning of Primal Words," "The Occurrence in Dreams of Material from Fairy Tales," "The Theme of the Three Caskets," "The Moses of Michelangelo," "Some Character Types Met with in Psycho-analytic Work," "On Transience," "A Mythological Parallel to a Visual Obsession," "A Childhood Recollection from Dichtung und Wahrheit," "The Uncanny," "Dostoevsky and Parricide," and "The Goethe Prize."
