This book was released on 1991-10-18 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: More than 30 years after the publication of a data collection on dielectric properties in the 6th Edition of Landolt-Börnstein (Volume II/6) the complete volume IV/6 is presented here, providing an up-to-date view for this property. Important data from volume II/6 have been included in the present collection to spare the reader to consult the older tables. The present volume concentrates on static dielectric constants of pure liquids (mainly organics) and for the first time also of binary liquid mixtures at normal pressure. The vast amount of measured data forced the author to restrict the part for the binary mixtures to one single data set for each binary mixture at one temperature (in all cases where more than one data set at different temperatures was given in the publication, the set at or nearest to 293 K was chosen). This selection is in accordance to the fact that in most cases users are interested in deviations from a "linear mixing behaviour" only, which does not very much depend on temperature.

Book excerpt: 1 Introduction Data extract from Landolt-Börnstein IV/17: Static Dielectric Constants of Pure Liquids and Binary Liquid Mixtures 1. 1 Selection of data This supplement updates Landolt-Börnstein's New Series Group IV (Physical Chemistry) Volume 6, Static Dielectric Constants of Pure Liquids and Binary Liquid Mixtures, published in the year 1991 [1991WOH1]. The update provides experimental data published in the years 1991 to 2006. The ?nal date for including data was December, 31st, 2006. Specialization and selection of data for this new update follows the intentions of the original volume. The focus is on non-electrolyte systems, and only data for pure liquids and binary liquid mixtures at normal pr- sure (or in some single cases at the saturation vapor pressure) were taken into account for this volume. No data at higher pressures were collected, no data for the gaseous state, and no data for dielectric relaxation processes at higher frequencies have been included. For mixtures, this data collection is restricted to binary liquid mixtures, i. e. no ternary systems and also no solutions of any solids, salts, electrolytes, polymers are included here. At least, also molten metals and metallic alloys, molten salts, molten glasses and other hi- temperature melts were not taken into account. As the amount of data collected between 1991 and 2006 exceeds the available space for printing by far, the volume has an electronic version containing additional data which is available on www. landolt-boernstein.

This book was released on 2015-10-05 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The storage of electric energy depends on the capacity of the associated electrical components. The material's dielectric constant directly governs this capacity. Dielectric constants therefore gain renewed attention with the increasing need of saving, accumulating and delivering energy produced in the most various ways (wind energy, solar energy, feed-back energy etc.). This supplementary volume contains static dielectric constants as a function of temperature, and - for the binary mixtures - as a function of composition. The focus lies on non-electrolyte systems and pure and binary liquid mixtures at normal pressure.
Book Synopsis Dielectric Properties of Binary Solutions by : Y. Y. Akhadov
Download or read book Dielectric Properties of Binary Solutions written by Y. Y. Akhadov and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 480 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dielectric Properties of Binary Solutions focuses on the investigation of the dielectric properties of solutions, as well as the molecular interactions and mechanisms of molecular processes that occur in liquids. The book first discusses the fundamental formulas describing the dielectric properties of liquids and dielectric data for binary systems of non-aqueous solutions. Topics include permittivity and dielectric dispersion parameters of non-aqueous solutions of organic and inorganic compounds. The text also tackles dielectric data for binary systems of aqueous solutions, including permittivity of aqueous solutions of organic and inorganic compounds and dielectric dispersion parameters of aqueous solutions of organic and inorganic compounds. The tables that show the measurements of static permittivity, limiting high-frequency permittivity, permittivity and dielectric loss, relaxation time, and coefficient of distribution of relaxation times are presented. The manuscript also presents dielectric data in graphical form. The book is a vital reference for readers interested in the dielectric properties of binary solutions.

This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 581 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As the various disciplines of science advance, they proliferate and tend to become more esoteric. Barriers of specialized terminologies form, which cause scientists to lose contact with their colleagues, and differences in points-of-view emerge which hinder the unification of knowledge among the various disciplines, and even within a given discipline. As a result, the scientist, and especially the student, is in many instances offered fragmented glimpses of subjects that are funda mentally synthetic and that should be treated in their own right. Such seems to be the case of the liquid state. Unlike the other states of matter -- gases, solids, and plasmas -- the liquid state has not yet received unified treatment, probably because it has been the least explored and remains the least understood state of matter. Occasionally, events occur which help remove some of the barriers that separate scientists and disciplines alike. Such an event was the ASI on The Liquid State held this past July at the lovely Hotel Tivoli Sintra, in the picturesque town of Sintra, Portugal, approximately 30 km northwest of Lisbon. Since this broad a subject could not be covered in one Institute, the focus of the ASI was on a theme that provided a common thread of understanding for all in attendance -- the Electrical Proper ties of the Liquid State.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An introduction to the physics of electrical insulation, this book presents the physical foundations of this discipline and the resulting applications. It is structured in two parts. The first part presents a mathematical and intuitive approach to dielectrics; various concepts, including polarization, induction, forces and losses are discussed. The second part provides readers with the keys to understanding the physics of solid, liquid and gas insulation. It comprises a phenomenological description of discharges in gas and its resulting applications. Finally, the main electrical properties of liquids and solids are presented, in order to explain the phenomena of electrical degradation, dissipation and breakdown. Contents 1. Mathematical Examination of Dielectrics 2. Physical Examination of Dielectrics Appendix 1. List of Figures Appendix 2. List of Symbols Appendix 3. List of Useful Values Appendix 4. Reminder about Dielectric Spectroscopy Appendix 5. Reminder about Transitory Currents
