On this occasion, the old Nidaros pilgrimage route was reopened. It is 643 km long and crosses Norway from south to north. It would have been incomprehensible to write a book about my long hike on the Way of St. Olav without mentioning the Vikings, as the history of the Norwegians is so closely linked to this ancient civilization. Everything in this country is reminiscent of the heritage of the Viking culture. When I left Oslo, I had no idea that this long hike would open the doors to an exciting adventure.
