Download or read book Handbook of Spectroscopy written by J. W. Robinson and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2019-07-23 with total page 1009 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The principle objective of this handbook is to provide a readily accessible source of information on the major fields of spectroscopy. Specifically, these fields are NMR, IR, Raman, UV (absorption and fluorescence), ESCA, X-Ray (absorption diffraction fluorescence), mass spectrometry, atomic absorption, flame photometry, emission spectrography, and flame spectroscopy. It will be of particular use to analytical, organic, inorganic chemists or spectroscopists wishing to identify materials or compounds. The book will indicate to them which techniques may provide useful information and what kind of information will and will not be provided. In short, it will be a companion to those spectroscopists who have need to broaden their horizons into the major fields discussed.

Book Synopsis Spectroscopy in Biochemistry by : J.Ellis Bell
Download or read book Spectroscopy in Biochemistry written by J.Ellis Bell and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-01-18 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book has been written in part with the aim of providing a text which will be useful in teaching the biochemical applications of spectroscopy. This book will be of particular use to the biochemist or biologist who does not have a background in spectroscopy, but desires to find out what sort of information spectroscopy can provide. Attention was limited to those techniques most frequently used, and which at present have the widest applications.

Book Synopsis Mössbauer Spectroscopy II by : U. Gonser
Download or read book Mössbauer Spectroscopy II written by U. Gonser and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-04-18 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Some newly discovered effects lose their glamor after a short period of euphoria. Others, however, retain their fascination for a long time and, even as they mature, display unexpected features. The Mossbauer effect belongs to the second category. Rudolf Mossbauer's discovery of recoilless gamma-ray emission in 1957 immediately caused a flurry of attention, and confirming work appeared almost at once. Since then the flow of publications has steadily increased. Most studies follow predict abl e paths; the essential aspects of these "conventional" experiments have been described in the first volume of the present work (Mossbauer Spectroscopy, Topics in Applied Physics, Vol. 5). These straightforward investigations have not, however, exhausted the field, boredom has not set in, and unexpected applications continue to appear. In the present volume, Uli Gonser has collected contributions that display the "exotic" side of the Mossbauer effect. They range from a masterly de scription of the red-shift experiment to a clear exposition of a powerful solution to the old and painful phase problem in crystallography. Each of the contributions exhibits a different side of recoilless gamma-ray emission. Together they show that the field is very much alive and continues to delight us with elegant solutions to old problems, unanticipated glimpses at new phenomena, clever uses of new technical possibilities, and ingenious applications to fields far away from physics. I believe that novel features of the Mossbauer effect will continue to appear and that new applications will still be found.

Book Synopsis Organic Structure Determination Using 2-D NMR Spectroscopy by : Jeffrey H. Simpson
Download or read book Organic Structure Determination Using 2-D NMR Spectroscopy written by Jeffrey H. Simpson and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2011-12-30 with total page 591 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The second edition of this book comes with a number of new figures, passages, and problems. Increasing the number of figures from 290 to 448 has necessarily added considerable length, weight, and, expense. It is my hope that the book has not lost any of its readability and accessibility. I firmly believe that most of the concepts needed to learn organic structure determination using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy do not require an extensive mathematical background. It is my hope that the manner in which the material contained in this book is presented both reflects and validates this belief"--
Book Synopsis Molecular and Laser Spectroscopy by : V.P. Gupta
Download or read book Molecular and Laser Spectroscopy written by V.P. Gupta and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2020-07-10 with total page 706 pages. Book Synopsis Tables of Spectral Data for Structure Determination of Organic Compounds by : Ernö Pretsch
Download or read book Tables of Spectral Data for Structure Determination of Organic Compounds written by Ernö Pretsch and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 325 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although numerical data are, in principle, universal, the compilations presented in this book are extensively annotated and interleaved with text. This translation of the second German edition has been prepared to facilitate the use of this work, with all its valuable detail, by the large community of English-speaking scientists. Translation has also provided an opportunity to correct and revise the text, and to update the nomenclature. Fortunately, spectroscopic data and their relationship with structure do not change much with time so one can predict that this book will, for a long period of time, continue to be very useful to organic chemists involved in the identification of organic compounds or the elucidation of their structure. Klaus Biemann Cambridge, MA, April 1983 Preface to the First German Edition Making use of the information provided by various spectroscopic tech niques has become a matter of routine for the analytically oriented organic chemist. Those who have graduated recently received extensive training in these techniques as part of the curriculum while their older colleagues learned to use these methods by necessity. One can, therefore, assume that chemists are well versed in the proper choice of the methods suitable for the solution of a particular problem and to translate the experimental data into structural information.
