Book Synopsis Satellite Sar Detection Of Sub-mesoscale Ocean Dynamic Processes by : Zheng Quanan
Download or read book Satellite Sar Detection Of Sub-mesoscale Ocean Dynamic Processes written by Zheng Quanan and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2017-03-17 with total page 348 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) as a form of radar to create images of objects, uses the motion of the radar antenna over a targeted region to provide finer spatial resolution than is possible with conventional beam-scanning radars by mounting the antenna on a moving platform such as an aircraft or spacecraft. As antenna aperture (the "size" of the antenna) is defined by the distance the SAR device travels over a target in the time taken for the radar pulses to return to the antenna, the larger the aperture is, the higher the image resolution, therefore, this enables SAR to create high resolution images with comparatively small physical antennas. This special book aims to provide the updated theories and methods for the use of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) onboard satellites to detect ocean processes, i.e., SAR ocean remote sensing. It is a hi-tech application field having been developed since late 1970s and become a powerful tool for obtaining dynamic signatures from the remote and broad ocean.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is dedicated to studying the ocean with radar tools, in particular, with space radars. Being intended mainly for the scientists preoccupied with the problem (as well as senior course students), it concentrates and generalizes the knowledge scattered over specialized journals. The significant part of the book contains the results obtained by the author. Systematically collects and describes the approaches used by different laboratories and institutions Deals with the physics of radar imagery and specifically with ocean surface imagery Useful for students and researchers specializing in the area of ocean remote sensing using airborne or space-borne radars, both SAR and RAR
Book Synopsis Regional Satellite Oceanography by : Serge Victorov
Download or read book Regional Satellite Oceanography written by Serge Victorov and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2003-09-02 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work addresses the whole range of problems relating to the application of satellite technology to studies of regional seas and sea phenomona - the Gulf Stream, the Kuroshia Current - and coastal zones. It argues that to emphasize global applications is to fail to take into account fundamental idiosyncracies specific to the regional perspective. In addition, it describes implementation techniques - data gathering; in situ data assurance, algorithms for parameter retrieval; data storage; and data output.; The book contains satellite imagery and incorporates case studies from areas such as the Baltic and the Black Sea.

This book was released on 2024-07-19 with total page 418 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Synthetic Aperture Radar Image Processing Algorithms for Nonlinear Oceanic Turbulence and Front Modelling is both a research- and practice-based reference that bridges the gap between the remote sensing field and the dynamic oceanography exploration field. In this perspective, the book explicates how to apply techniques in synthetic aperture radar and quantum interferometry synthetic aperture radar (QInSAR) for oceanic turbulence and front simulation and modelling. The book includes detailed algorithms to enable readers to better understand and implement the practices covered in their own work and apply QInSAR to their own research. This multidisciplinary reference is useful for researchers and academics in dynamic oceanography and modelling, remote sensing and aquatic science, as well as geographers, geophysicists, and environmental engineers Details the potential of synthetic aperture radar in imaging ocean surface dynamical features Includes detailed algorithms and methods, allowing readers to develop their own computer algorithms Covers the latest applications of quantum image processing
