Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I'm screwed. I watched my family’s vineyard fall under the auction hammer, holding back tears of grief and rage. What should be mine went to a stranger. I want to hate Kane McCallum and his dark blue eyes. He has everything: looks, money, even a big, lovable dog. Now he’s offered me a job managing the vineyard—my vineyard. I can stay in my family’s home, but only if I work for him. I’m just a billionaire looking for something more. I don’t want to care what happens to prickly Meg Villier, but I see hard work and courage in her calloused hands. Passion in the curve of her mouth. Tenderness in the way she treats my dog. I want it all: my future billions, the vineyard... and Meg. Wonderful characters, setting, and story. Toby Jane is a magical writer. I love the Somewhere Series books, and never want to leave their world! ~ Reviewer

Download or read book Corkscrewed written by Robert V. Camuto and published by U of Nebraska Press. This book was released on 2008-01-01 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Robert V. Camuto s interest in wine turned into a passion when he moved to France and began digging into local soils and cellars. Corkscrewed recounts Camuto s journey through France s myriad regions and how the journey brought about a profound change in everything he believed about wine. The world of great wines was once dominated by great Bordeaux ch'teaux. As those ch'teaux were bought up by moguls and international corporations, the heart of French winemaking moved into the realm of small producers, whose wines reflect the stunning diversity of regional environment, soil, and culture terroir. In this book we follow Camuto across France as he works harvesting grapes in Alsace, learns about wine and bombs in Corsica, and eats and drinks his way through the world s greatest bacchanalia in Burgundy. Along the route he discovers a new generation of winemakers who have rejected chemicals, additives, and technologically altered wines. His book charts an odyssey into this new world of French wine, a world of biodynamic winegrowing, herbal treatments, lunar cycles, and grape varieties long ago dismissed as difficult. A celebration of the diversity that makes French wine more than a mere commodity, Camuto s work is a delightful look beyond the supermarket to the various flavors offered by the true vintners of France.

Book Synopsis Temecula Wine Country by : Rebecca Farnbach
Download or read book Temecula Wine Country written by Rebecca Farnbach and published by Arcadia Publishing. This book was released on 2009 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Vineyards flourish in Temecula because of the ideal climate. The name Temecula is taken from Luiseno words that mean "where the sun and earth were created." At an altitude of 1,500 feet, the filtered sunlight and an ocean breeze that drifts through a gap in the mountains coax the decomposed granite soil of Temecula Valley to produce high-quality grapes for premium wines today just as they did over a century ago. From the time the Spanish padres entered the valley and made sacramental wines and French and Italian immigrants brought vines from the Old World, its grape harvests were unknown to the rest of the world. In 1967, Vincenzo and Audrey Cilurzo came from Hollywood to plant the first commercial vineyard, followed by Ely Callaway, who built the first commercial winery in 1974, and soon the Temecula Wine Country was home to 14 wineries. The annual Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival, started in 1983, draws as many as 50,000 attendees.
