This book was released on 1986 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study examines the economic impact of relocating all or part of the Fishing Bridge facilities on gateway communities. Basically, we conclude that relocating any or all of the Fishing Bridge facilities will have a negligible impact on camper activity patterns, as well as entrance to and exit from the Park. Thus, we expect little if any economic impact on gateway communities. Our specifiic finding are as follows: 1) Nearly half of all campter have never visited the Park before. 2) Most campers are unfamiliar with the Park and its campgrounds. 3) The facilities that are most important are generic in nature, i.e., not tied to a specific campground 4) Campground loyalty is low for nearly all campers: a)nearly all would have come to the Park even if their current campground were closed. b)nearly 50 percent c)virtually all campers would pay little or nothing to retain d)the vast majority of campers wish to spend most of their time viewing wildlife and sightseeing rather than engaging in other activities at campsites. 5) Campground congestion is not perceived as a problem. 6) Traffic congestion is not perceived as a problem. 7) The willingness to pay to see a grizzly bear is substantial consistent with the stated desire of most campers to view wildlife. The willingness to pay to see a grizzly bear far exceeds the willingness to pay to retain specific campsites. 8) Virtually no campers would have altered their entrance or exit from the Park if their current campground were closed down. Those few that said they would have did not know which other entrance and exit they would have employed. 9) Expenditures by the typical camper in gateway communities is not great. 10) The economic impact on the private sector in gateway communities of relocating all or part of the Fishing Bridge facilities should be negligible. 11) The economic impact in the public sectors of Cody and Park County will be insignificant.
