Book Synopsis A Life of Snakes and Ladders by : P. Lanquai
Download or read book A Life of Snakes and Ladders written by P. Lanquai and published by Authors On Line Ltd. This book was released on 2005 with total page 344 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The writer's thoughts, feelings, comments, letters, dreams and stories have been recorded over a period of more than twenty years. Through these revelations, one can follow a coarse thread, which has, at times, been broken and tied together again. Written in diary format he touches on sex, religion, astronomy, astrology, birth and death, as well as a whole range of emotions; from anger and hate...to love. Never intending this collection to be read by others, it comes across very intimately, and with a fair amount of humour. This certainly shows how the dice have fallen in his life of Snakes and Ladders.

Book Synopsis Sinners in the Hands of a Loving God by : Brian Zahnd
Download or read book Sinners in the Hands of a Loving God written by Brian Zahnd and published by WaterBrook. This book was released on 2017-08-15 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pastor Brian Zahnd began "to question the theology of a wrathful God who delights in punishing sinners, and has started to explore the real nature of Jesus and His Father. The book isn’t only an interesting look at the context of some modern theological ideas; it’s also offers some profound insight into God’s love and eternal plan." —Relevant Magazine (Named one of the Top 10 Books of 2017) God is wrath? Or God is Love? In his famous sermon “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God,” Puritan revivalist Jonathan Edwards shaped predominating American theology with a vision of God as angry, violent, and retributive. Three centuries later, Brian Zahnd was both mesmerized and terrified by Edwards’s wrathful God. Haunted by fear that crippled his relationship with God, Zahnd spent years praying for a divine experience of hell. What Zahnd experienced instead was the Father’s love—revealed perfectly through Jesus Christ—for all prodigal sons and daughters. In Sinners in the Hands of a Loving God, Zahnd asks important questions like: Is seeing God primarily as wrathful towards sinners true or biblical? Is fearing God a normal expected behavior? And where might the natural implications of this theological framework lead us? Thoughtfully wrestling with subjects like Old Testament genocide, the crucifixion of Jesus, eternal punishment in hell, and the final judgment in Revelation, Zanhd maintains that the summit of divine revelation for sinners is not God is wrath, but God is love.

Book Synopsis Bringing God Up to Date by : John Hunt
Download or read book Bringing God Up to Date written by John Hunt and published by John Hunt Publishing. This book was released on 2021-10-29 with total page 301 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Religion is an essential part of our humanity. We all follow some form of religion, in the original meaning of the word. But organized religion establishes definitions, boundaries and hierarchies which the founders would be amazed by. This is perhaps more true of Christianity than most other religions, due to the short life of Jesus, his sudden death, the lack of any contemporary records. His teaching about the kingdom of God is great; it could see us through our time on earth. But his followers watered it down and soon lost it altogether. It became a kingdom in heaven for the few, rather than one here and now for everyone. The Church, or Churches, that resulted became increasingly irrelevant, even a hindrance, to seeing it realized. Many will always find security and truth in the traditions that developed, and good for them. But for those who can't, for those who have given up on religion or never thought it worth considering, the original teachings are worth another look. If we could recover them and live by them, we could change ourselves and the world for the better. We could bring God up to date.

Download or read book Exorcises written by Derek Peter Thornton and published by Paragon Publishing. This book was released on 2015-12-21 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: EXORCISES frees me from all devils and demons, like an exorcism. The words and stories address and challenge an all endearing struggle with literature, spirituality, confusion of the will to be and becoming through Art and writing, the person one is. A play on the words of exercises and exorcisms, as to exercise the right to an exorcism is to rid oneself of dark outside influences which enter the spirit and play havoc with the psychology of humanity. Peace & love to all my readers. Explicit content.
