One hundred and fifty years from now, Africa has become the world’s dominant technological and economic power. Crime, war, disease and poverty have been practically eliminated. The Moon and Mars are settled, and colonies stretch all the way out to the edge of the solar system. And Ocular, the largest scientific instrument in history, is about to make an epochal discovery... Geoffrey Akinya wants only one thing: to be left in peace, so that he can continue his long-running studies into the elephants of the Amboseli basin. But Geoffrey’s family, which controls the vast Akinya business empire, has other plans for him. After the death of his grandmother Eunice—the erstwhile space explorer and entrepreneur—something awkward has come to light on the Moon, so Geoffrey is dispatched there to ensure the family name remains untarnished. But the secrets Eunice died with are about to be revealed—secrets that could change everything...or tear this near utopia apart.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Except for remodeling out first home, my wife and I had no experience in building yet dared to built two homes: a custom one for our growing family and, later, one for our retirement. Though the book is well illustrated, it is not a step-by-step instruction on how to build a home, but one well detailed in all phases of construction. . Our retirement home, built with concrete blocks, reinforced with steel, is a more permanent structure. Let me put it this way: it is not an overstatement if I say our retirement home will last thousands of years, one that will have people wondering, who the heck built a Greek temple on a California mountain? We did not go into the project blindly. The key words are research and taking the time to visit building sites. In my work clothes of white shirt and tie and with clipboard for taking note, I was seen by most laborers as a typical office worker doing his tedious job. Please try to be unobtrusive while questioning workers in different stages of construction. Carpenters were helpful in demonstrating the safe use of power tools. Stucco men loved to show off the different textures they created, Spanish lace their favorite. I strongly recommend that my readers visit construction, and please get permission from a job foreman. Good luck.

Book excerpt: We have all been such travellers. We have travelled through space and time and seen the most magnificent sights and beauty along the way. We have been everywhere and done everything, though we have forgotten the brilliance of just how beautiful we are. We have forgotten where we came from, but we will remember this again soon, as we always do. This book is a journey through the galaxies, stars, and dimensions on through the golden ages of Lemuria and Atlantis, journeying with the Angelics and the Galactics, on Native American lands and now onto the new golden age. We are divine, little bright lights, and we have come here from the heart of our Creator to live on Gaia, Great Mother Earth, so that our soul has the opportunity to experience spiritual and physical life, experiencing our connections to the Creator. In the new golden age, we will have the opportunity to bring heaven down to earth once more, as it was in the previous golden ages.

Book excerpt: A guide to how giving can be the key to happiness—combining the latest research with firsthand accounts from Goldie Hawn, Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus, and others. As a Philanthropy advisor, Jenny Santi has met some of the world’s most notable and inspiring change-makers. Despite their diverse backgrounds, each of these people has related to Santi that the thing in their life that has given them the most joy is the simple act of giving. In this inspiring book, Santi shares their stories – how they found purpose, healed from past wounds, and discovered meaning beyond material success – as well as her own personal struggles in finding happiness in order to inspire readers to discover the power of giving in their own lives. Told firsthand by such notable people as Academy Award winner Goldie Hawn, Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus, Teach for America founder Wendy Kopp, philanthropist Richard Rockefeller, environmentalist Philippe Cousteau, and many others, the stories in this book make an eloquent and passionate case that oftentimes the answers to the problems that haunt us, and the key to the happiness that eludes us, lie in helping others. In this book you will discover: - How altruism activates the same pleasure centers of the brain stimulated by food, sex, and drugs - Practical, universally applicable lessons on what kind of giving makes people happy and what doesn’t. - How to give your time, talents, and treasures in ways that are more impact-oriented, energizing, and rewarding than ever In this inspiring book, Santi reveals giving is the secret to living a life that is full of meaning, purpose, and happiness.

The Exclamation Point! is a literary explosion that's married to music Afro-Brazalian drums and violent symphonies and exploding saxophones all give The Exclamation Point! its unstoppable fast-paced rhythm. The Exclamation Point! was originally a nearly 200,000 word run-on sentence that Wolf Larsen slashed and cut down to less than 70,000 words because Wolf hates to waste words. The Exclamation Point! mixes verse, music, modern dance, painting, and stories about traveling around the world to produce an exciting literary adventure that's unlike anything ever written.

Her mother, Diana, is the primary suspect . . . at least until the police discover his second wife, Jewels, and his third, Bert. The new widows say they have never met--but Picasso knows otherwise. She remembers the late-night visits, the hushed phone calls, and the whispered planning. Soon, however, it becomes clear that the “perfect murder” was not so perfect after all. Each woman pleads innocence, claiming that she backed out of the plan at the last second. And as Picasso sorts through the lies and half-truths, I Love You More speeds toward an ending that no one will see coming.
