Book excerpt: Think Thin is based on positive thinking. And if you put your mind to it, you can do anything. I am proving the theory by publishing this book which has obviously been a goal for a very long time. I will prove you can do anything you put your mind to if you live your life focusing and living in the positive. In Think Thin I have updated the reader on my progress with editing my book and feelings I may have been going through during the course I am taking at this time. So I'm proving the theory. Next I'll fill you in a bit about Think Thin. It is packed with information such as exercise illustrations, cellulite, ways to get rid of it and keep it off. Protein information -- you need to know how much your body needs to get the right amount. Information on skipping meals and why you shouldn't do it. My own personal experiences with dieting and knowledge gained. And it's packed with learning how to live your life staying focused and living in the positive. What makes my diet book different? It is not one specific diet, it is information, as mentioned above. If you are already on a diet Think Thin can be used along with it, although my secret recipe for my success in loosing weight and staying slender is revealed in my book. It's basically eating right, 3 meals a day, balanced, learning to not over eat, watching out for fat calories and how to read labels. Fat calories is what puts the weight on. Exercise and more. The fun part about my diet is, stay diligent 5 days a week, plan for 2 days to be reward days. To keep your sanity you must reward yourself by having fun and eating that piece of chocolate cake if you want to and not to feel guilty about it on those reward days. Think Thin is a work book, keeping a journal of your thoughts and desires everyday is essential. Think Thin is based on Metaphysics. Living in the truth, living your life doing what is right in life. When you live your life right, life is better.

Alejandro Chabán suffered from being overweight as a child and from anorexia and bulimia as an adolescent, and desperately tried to have a healthy body. Then, after trying different diets and exercise regimens, he finally lost 150 pounds. But he discovered that even though his body was thin, in his mind, he was still overweight. This realization inspired him to develop techniques to accept these feelings and transform them into powerful practices. In 2012, this proven method led Alejandro to found Yes You Can!®, a program that has helped thousands of people to follow a healthy lifestyle with a Latin flavor. In Think Skinny, Feel Fit, Alejandro shares for the first time the seven steps that were essential in helping him master his mind in order to transform his body. Using personal anecdotes and examples, Alejandro explains in detail what it means to be emotionally overweight, how emotions and physical well-being are connected, and how best to identify the mental obstacles that weigh down your mind and body. These steps, grounded in positive-thinking techniques, meditation, and self-acceptance and commitment, will help you lead a happier, healthier life. Now you can say "Yes!" to finally taking care of yourself the way you deserve.

We are so far removed from foods in their natural state that we now call them "health foods", a sad admission that we’ve compromised our health for the sake of convenience. The Science of Skinny aims to create a space for change -- to educate and enlighten readers on the value of proper nutrition so that they can find a healthier and more life-affirming relationship with their bodies and the food they eat. Offering serial dieters a healthy and lifelong way to shed pounds -- and keep them off -- The Science of Skinny includes: kick-start plans; guidelines for family- and kid-friendly meals; quick and delicious menus and more than 50 recipes; shopping lists and eating-on-the-go tips; easy fitness routines; and more.

Book excerpt: Determine if your eating behaviors are a problem, develop strategies to change unhealthy patterns, and learn when and how to get professional help when needed with this practical, engaging guide to taking care of yourself when you are not a full-blown anorexic. Millions of men and women struggle with disordered eating. Some stand at the mirror wondering how they can face the day when they look so fat. Others binge, purge, or exercise compulsively. Many skip meals, go on diet after diet, or cut out entire food groups. Still, they are never thin enough. While only 1 in 200 adults will struggle with full-blown anorexia nervosa, at least 1 in 20 (including 1 in 10 teen girls) will exhibit key symptoms of one or more of the officially recognized DSM eating disorders--anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder. Many suffer from the effects but never address the issue because they don't fully meet the diagnostic criteria. If this is the case for you, then you may be "almost anorexic." Drawing on case studies and the latest research, Almost Anorexic combines a psychologist's clinical experience with a patient's personal recovery story to help readers understand and overcome almost anorexia.Almost Anorexic will give you the skills to: understand the symptoms of almost anorexic; determine if your (or your loved one's) relationship with food is a problem; gain insight on how to intervene with a loved one; discover scientifically proven strategies to change unhealthy eating patterns; learn when and how to get professional help when it's needed.

Book excerpt: Think Yourself Thin in 30 days with the Thin Thoughts Journal. The key to successful weight loss is not only a lifestyle change but a mind-set change as well. This is where this workbook comes in handy. The Law of Attraction is activated by your dominant thoughts and beliefs - whatever you focus on the most is what you will draw into your life. The problem is that most of us tend to focus on the very things we DON'T want, like feeling fat, unattractive, imperfect, broke, frustrated, and more. Do you find yourself consistently focusing on "fat thoughts"? Like how uncomfortable you are in your clothes? Or how people must be making fun of you behind your back? Or how you can't stand carrying these excess pounds for one second longer? Thin Thoughts also known as power affirmations are NOT descriptions of your current situation; rather, they are your goals stated as if they have already been achieved. They describe what you WANT rather than what you already have; goals you intend to make come true for you. Remember, these are designed to shift reality from how it currently IS, to how you WANT it to be. This is NOT a diet book but an inspirational collection of 30 daily affirmations which I refer to as Thin Thoughts that are intended to be used as a tool to foster self-acceptance and awareness as well as a more positive approach to weight management including coping with emotional hunger, guilt, perfectionism, poor self-esteem, negative body image, as well as giving you the opportunity to be present in what is going on around you and in your life. The daily Thin Thoughts listed in this workbook will provide the insights and inspiration you need to begin transforming your thoughts for the better. Remember, when your thoughts change for the better, your outer circumstances must change too! The goal of this workbook is to inspire your imagination with empowering affirmations to help you on your journey to create your ideal body.
