Book Synopsis THINKING LAWS AND STRUCTURAL MODELS OF THE BRAIN by : ZHAO XIONGSHAN
Download or read book THINKING LAWS AND STRUCTURAL MODELS OF THE BRAIN written by ZHAO XIONGSHAN and published by American Academic Press. This book was released on 2022-12-14 with total page 153 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The theories in this book are all original and intended to demonstrate the fundamental laws of the brain’s thinking. In this book, the characteristics of the information stored in the brain are discussed and the trigger law are derived from them; the law of the influence of human emotional activities on the thinking of the brain is demonstrated, and the reasonable choice law is deduced based on it; according to the way information is stored in the brain, the understanding law is derived. Three laws can be used to explain a large number of brain thinking phenomena, including thinking phenomena at the information, consciousness, and cognitive levels. It can be said that as long as the brain can guarantee the realization of these three laws, it has powerful thinking ability. According to the three laws, two mathematical models of the brain structure are proposed in this book, among which the circuit model is more intuitive and easier to understand; the path model is very simple and easy to implement and may be closer to the real brain. Combining the laws of brain thinking with the structural model of the brain leads to a better understanding of how the brain thinks.

Book Synopsis Photonic Switching II by : Kunio Tada
Download or read book Photonic Switching II written by Kunio Tada and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 406 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 1990 International Topical Meeting on Photonic Switching was held April 12-14, 1990, in Kobe, Japan, in conjunction with the 1990 International Meet ing on Optical Computing. It was sponsored by the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers in cooperation with the IEEE Lasers and Electro-Optics Society, the Optical Society of America, and the Japan So ciety of Applied Physics. The attendance was in excess of 340 persons, with 18 countries represented - a testimony to the current international interest in photonic switching. This book contains expanded and more detailed versions of most of the papers presented at the topical meeting. With the success of optical fibers there is an increased demand for a switch ing system that can operate directly on the light present in the fibers. The goal is to reduce the total number of optical-to-electrical and electrical-to-optical transformations as far as possible, in addition to exploiting the large spec tral and temporal bandwidth offered by such an optically transparent system.

Book Synopsis Introduction to Digital Filters by : Julius Orion Smith
Download or read book Introduction to Digital Filters written by Julius Orion Smith and published by Julius Smith. This book was released on 2007 with total page 481 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A digital filter can be pictured as a "black box" that accepts a sequence of numbers and emits a new sequence of numbers. In digital audio signal processing applications, such number sequences usually represent sounds. For example, digital filters are used to implement graphic equalizers and other digital audio effects. This book is a gentle introduction to digital filters, including mathematical theory, illustrative examples, some audio applications, and useful software starting points. The theory treatment begins at the high-school level, and covers fundamental concepts in linear systems theory and digital filter analysis. Various "small" digital filters are analyzed as examples, particularly those commonly used in audio applications. Matlab programming examples are emphasized for illustrating the use and development of digital filters in practice.

Book excerpt: Adopt a diagrammatic approach to creating robust real-time embedded systems Key FeaturesExplore the impact of real-time systems on software designUnderstand the role of diagramming in the software development processLearn why software performance is a key element in real-time systemsBook Description From air traffic control systems to network multimedia systems, real-time systems are everywhere. The correctness of the real-time system depends on the physical instant and the logical results of the computations. This book provides an elaborate introduction to software engineering for real-time systems, including a range of activities and methods required to produce a great real-time system. The book kicks off by describing real-time systems, their applications, and their impact on software design. You will learn the concepts of software and program design, as well as the different types of programming, software errors, and software life cycles, and how a multitasking structure benefits a system design. Moving ahead, you will learn why diagrams and diagramming plays a critical role in the software development process. You will practice documenting code-related work using Unified Modeling Language (UML), and analyze and test source code in both host and target systems to understand why performance is a key design-driver in applications. Next, you will develop a design strategy to overcome critical and fault-tolerant systems, and learn the importance of documentation in system design. By the end of this book, you will have sound knowledge and skills for developing real-time embedded systems. What you will learnDifferentiate between correct, reliable, and safe softwareDiscover modern design methodologies for designing a real-time systemUse interrupts to implement concurrency in the systemTest, integrate, and debug the codeDemonstrate test issues for OOP constructsOvercome software faults with hardware-based techniquesWho this book is for If you are interested in developing a real-time embedded system, this is the ideal book for you. Book Synopsis Automotive Sensory Systems by : C. Nwagboso
Download or read book Automotive Sensory Systems written by C. Nwagboso and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 381 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The rapidly growing need for mobility has brought with it a major challenge for improvement in the operation and utilization of automotive systems. The economical, environmental and safety constraints imposed by the increase in the number of road vehicles and subsequent government policies also require substantial product development through the application of infor mation technology. This involves the enhancement of vehicle informatics and telematic systems with additional sensors and systems. The advance in the design and development of automotive sensory systems is so rapid that there is urgent need for the experts involved in the technology to work together to provide a reference book for the engineer of today and tomorrow. This motivated me to spend two years researching the topics and the basis on which such a book should be written. The result is the present compilation of the work of international experts on the state-of-the-art in the field of automotive sensory systems. Thus, a unique collection has been created for the reference of all those concerned with, or interested in, the design and development of modern, safe and intelligent vehicles. Although this book is intended for engineers, managers, scientists, academicians and policy makers, students should also find it valuable. To meet the requirements of students the basics are explained in simple terms; however, it is hoped that others will appreciate this approach, since most of us are well aware that gaps remain in our knowledge of the elements of our profession.
