Book excerpt: Man created in God's image is much like his Creator, he is very relational. The inability of man to interact with God affects him in 7 other fundamental relationships in his life. In this book, the author has presented seven needful relationships which, if attained, will bring a complete fulfillment in the soul of every individual. Without any fulfillment in his soul, man will cling to any thing that brings him a temporary relief, thus the source of many frustrations. The writer is trying to show his readers that God has a perfect spot in the heart of each man called, "the secret place." The author takes his readers through a simplistic approach on how to relate to God in 7 relational dimensions, and challenge them to translate the result in their personal lives with others. Apostle Tumba J Kanyinda was born January 3, 1962 in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo. He came to USA twenty years ago, and served in the US Army for 11 years. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a major breakthrough for the field of fundraising, Russ Alan Prince and Karen Maru File provide development professionals with the Seven Faces approach—a powerful tool to enable them to maximize their effectiveness when approaching major donors for gifts. Using this framework, the authors identify and profile seven types of major donors and offer detailed strategies on how to approach them. The seven types—the Communitarian, the Devout, the Investor, the Socialite, the Altruist, the Repayer, and the Dynast—emerged from a detailed, comprehensive study of wealthy donors. The authors explain why each type requires a different strategy when approached for gifts, and show how fundraising professionals can identify and understand the motivations of each type of donor and so build successful and sustaining relationships with major donors. The authors then show how to act on this knowledge, providing a coherent, step-by-step system to implement the Seven Faces framework. Through numerous detailed examples, they illustrate how to: attract prospective donors motivate the donor to support a cause position the giving strategy, and ultimately empower the philanthropist. The Seven Faces of Philanthropy approach can be used in the context of capital campaigns, major gift solicitations, and planned giving programs. Both novice and expert fundraisers will find this framework to be a valuable supplement to their existing strategies and techniques.

Download or read book Faces written by Hanoch Piven and published by Pomegranate. This book was released on 2002 with total page 104 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hanoch Piven has taken the art of caricature to a whole new level. With a minimalist stroke of his deft hand, combined with an object related to what the subject is noted for -- along with his sharp wit -- Piven presents his vision of the celebrities he portrays. The stories Piven tells about each face are enlivened by elemental puns, developed from a three-step creative process. As Piven is sketching the subject in pencil, he is coming up with a word or two to describe the person: "Americana" for Bruce Springsteen, "media" for Jesse Jackson. Now he goes out "to the field" to find the appropriate object, the field being anything from a toy store to a hardware store. Then he lays out all the stuff he has found and combines the objects, adding or culling as necessary, until he achieves the minimum amount of information the viewer needs to recognize the person. Thus we have Steven Spielberg's beard and moustache expressed with strips of film; Jesse Jackson's mouth is a speaker. Within the seven categories of TV, film, music, American politics, the world, finance, and miscellaneous, Faces by Hanoch Piven presents 76 deliciously wicked takes on the likes of such diverse folks as Sigmund Freud, Marilyn Monroe, and the Unabomber.
Book Synopsis Seven Days That Divide the World by : John C. Lennox
Download or read book Seven Days That Divide the World written by John C. Lennox and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2011-08-23 with total page 191 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What did the writer of Genesis mean by “the first day”? Is it a literal week or a series of time periods? If I believe that the earth is 4.5 billion years old, am I denying the authority of Scripture? In response to the continuing controversy over the interpretation of the creation narrative in Genesis, John Lennox proposes a succinct method of reading and interpreting the first chapters of Genesis without discounting either science or Scripture. With examples from history, a brief but thorough exploration of the major interpretations, and a look into the particular significance of the creation of human beings, Lennox suggests that Christians can heed modern scientific knowledge while staying faithful to the biblical narrative. He moves beyond a simple response to the controversy, insisting that Genesis teaches us far more about the God of Jesus Christ and about God’s intention for creation than it does about the age of the earth. With this book, Lennox offers a careful yet accessible introduction to a scientifically-savvy, theologically-astute, and Scripturally faithful interpretation of Genesis.
