Book excerpt: Do you have a dream in you that challenges you on a daily basis to be birthed? Well, you will be very surprised to see whom God will choose to help press that dream into manifestation. This writing is dedicated to every believer as a tool to help affirm the God-inspired dream you feel within the heart of your spirit. Its purpose is to bring you into a broader perspective of the people God allows to accompany you on your journey of life while pursuing your purpose. It will quickly become frustrating if we have and keep a narrow perspective concerning whom God has designed to help us reach our dreams in life. We dedicate this writing to the leader as well as the dream God has planted in your heart. Sometimes we are capable of questioning the fact of the cause of people flowing in and out of our lives. God is a strategist, and he will never make a mistake. There is none good but God. We cannot separate good from God, so we must trust that whatever he permits in our lives, it has to be for our good. There is a purpose of the current flow of people in your life today. Upon reading, we pray the material shared will help broaden your perspective and purpose of life.

Download or read book Vita Sexualis written by Ralph M. Leck and published by University of Illinois Press. This book was released on 2016-03-30 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Karl Ulrichs's studies of sexual diversity galvanized the burgeoning field of sexual science in the nineteenth century. But in the years since, his groundbreaking activism has overshadowed his scholarly achievements. Ulrichs publicly defied Prussian law to agitate for gay equality and marriage, and founded the world's first organization dedicated to the legal and social emancipation of homosexuals. Ralph M. Leck returns Ulrichs to his place as the inventor of the science of sexual heterogeneity. Leck's analysis situates sexual science in a context that includes politics, aesthetics, the languages of science, and the ethics of gender. Although he was the greatest nineteenth-century scholar of sexual heterogeneity, Ulrichs retained certain traditional conjectures about gender. Leck recognizes these subtleties and employs the analytical concepts of modernist vita sexualis and traditional psychopathia sexualis to articulate philosophical and cultural differences among sexologists. Original and audacious, Vita Sexualis uses a bedrock figure's scientific and political innovations to open new insights into the history of sexual science, legal systems, and Western amatory codes.

Book excerpt: This book is an Esoteric interpretation of Emanuel Swedenborg's spiritual writings. It is written from a sinner's perspective as a personal memoir meant to impart spiritual guidance by example. It is a hands-on self-help book on how to "birth" the Divine Feminine Essence of Love from within. The author traces the Divine back to its original source as Essential Love and Essential Innocence, which begins in the body as a sensual feeling of love, and through the process of regeneration it becomes the Word of God. Then, by sharing the spiritual feeling of the "Word" as love it becomes a blissful union with the Divine within as the feeling of the "New Church." The "New Church" is the perception of an influx of spiritual love flowing from within as happiness. For when the feeling of love from a sensual life has been transformed into the spiritual feeling of love, and when done on a mass scale it ultimately manifests as the Brotherhood of Mankind as the feeling of Heaven on Earth.

Book Synopsis Castiglione's Allegory by : W.R. Albury
Download or read book Castiglione's Allegory written by W.R. Albury and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-04-08 with total page 331 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Castiglione’s Book of the Courtier (Il libro del cortegiano, 1528), a dialogue in which the interlocutors attempt to describe the perfect courtier, was one of the most influential books of the Renaissance. In recent decades a number of postmodern readings of this work have appeared, emphasizing what is often characterized as the playful indeterminacy of the text, and seeking to detect inconsistencies which are interpreted as signs of anxiety or bad faith in its presentation. In contrast to these postmodern readings, the present study conducts an experiment. What understanding does one gain of Castiglione’s book if one attempts an early modern reading? The author approaches The Book of the Courtier as a text in which some of its most important aspects are intentionally concealed and veiled in allegory. W.R. Albury argues that this early modern reading of The Book of the Courtier enables us to recover a serious political message which has a great deal of contemporary relevance and which is lost from sight when the work is approached primarily as a courtly etiquette book, or as a lament for the lost influence of the aristocracy in an age when autocratic nation-states were coming into being, or as an impersonal textual field upon which a free play of transformations and deconstructions may be performed.

Book Synopsis Kierkegaard's Category of Repetition by : Niels Nymann Eriksen
Download or read book Kierkegaard's Category of Repetition written by Niels Nymann Eriksen and published by Walter de Gruyter. This book was released on 2012-02-13 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the history of Kierkegaard reception scholars have predominantly focused on the pseudonymous works. Thus, while there are long traditions of research on well known pseudonymous works, such as Either/Or and The Sickness unto Death, scholarship on the edifying discourses is still at the pioneering stage. In an effort to bring this other, neglected half of Kierkegaard's authorship into focus, this volume of the Yearbook is dedicated specifically to the edifying discourses from 1843 44 and to Three Discourses on Imagined Occasions, from 1845. It features articles from leading international scholars on various aspects of these discourses, which are explored from literary, philosophical and theological perspectives. A series of articles has also been included on the history of reception of these edifying discourses in the various countries and language groups. The Yearbook also includes individual sections containing papers from recent international seminars on Kierkegaard's thought. One section provides a glimpse into the most recent work from the rich tradition of French Kierkegaard research. Another section includes leading papers from recent Hungarian Kierkegaard scholarship. These contributions serve to make this number of the Yearbook the most international to date and are proof of the growing interest in international Kierkegaard research.
