Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Polymer-supported organic catalysts are largely insoluble in most reaction solvents, which allows for easy recovery and recycling of the catalysts. They are generally stable, readily available, and environmental friendly, so they have attracted the interest of many synthetic chemists in the industrial and academic fields. In this book, different types of polymer-supported catalysts based on peptides, polystyrene, polyethers, poly(acrylic acid), poly(ethylene imine), poly(2-oxazoline), poly(isobutylene), poly(norbornene), etc., as well as metals are included with their synthetic organic synthesis applications. It is believed that this work will be of interest to organic chemists, material scientists, chemical engineers, polymer scientists and technologists.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Catalysis in Organic Syntheses 1977 is a collection of papers presented at the Sixth Conference on Catalysis in Organic Syntheses, held in Boston by the Organic Reactions Catalysis Society on May 10-11, 1976. This book contains 15 chapters that specifically consider the homogeneous and heterogeneous aspects of catalysis. The chapters are organized to deal with a specific catalytic reaction, the catalysts used, and the effect of selected process parameters. This text considers the hydrogenation, aromatic, hydrogenolysis, selective oxidation, substitution, and hydroformylation reactions. The concluding chapter describes syntheses and reaction of various organic compounds, with particular emphasis on the reactions with carbon tetrachloride and other perhalomethanes. This book will be of benefit to organic chemists and researchers.
Book Synopsis Catalysis by Polymer-Immobilized Metal Complexes by : Anatoly D. Pomogailo
Download or read book Catalysis by Polymer-Immobilized Metal Complexes written by Anatoly D. Pomogailo and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2020-08-18 with total page 426 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Deals with a new and promising field developed during the last two decades on the boundary between homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis. This book presents general information on catalysis for a wide range of organic reactions, e.g., hydrogenation and oxidation reactions, and polymerization transformations. Special attention is paid to electro- and photochemical stimulation of catalytic processes in the presence of immobilized metal complexes. Other topics covered are the quantitative data on the comparison of catalyses by mobile and immobilized metal complexes; main factors affecting the activity of these catalytic systems and methods of optimizing their control; and specific problems of catalysis by fixed complexes (e.g., ligand exchange and electron transfer in metal polymer systems, macromolecular effects and polyfunctional catalysis).

Book Synopsis Polymer Supported Chemical Reactions by : P. Hodge
Download or read book Polymer Supported Chemical Reactions written by P. Hodge and published by iSmithers Rapra Publishing. This book was released on 1991 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Polymer supported chemical reactions may include those using supported substrates, reagents and catalysts, and this report describes all three types. In all cases the most frequent reason for the use of a polymeric support will be the ease of separation of the supported and the low molecular c099 species. An additional indexed section containing several hundred abstracts from the Rapra Polymer Library database provides useful references for further reading.

Book Synopsis Supported Metal Complexes by : F.R. Hartley

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is now IS years since the first patents in polymer supported metal complex catalysts were taken out. In the early days ion-exchange resins were used to support ionic metal complexes. Soon covalent links were developed, and after an initially slow start there was a period of explosive growth in the mid to late 1970s during which virtually every homogeneous metal complex catalyst ever reported was also studied bound to a support. Both polymers and inorganic oxides were studied as supports, although the great preponderance of workers studied polymeric supports, and of these polystyrene was by far the commonest used. This period served to show that by very careful design polymer-supported metal complex catalysts could have specific advantages over homogeneous metal complex catalysts. However the subject was a complicated one. Merely immobilising a successful metal complex catalyst to a functionalised support rarely yielded other than an inferior version of the catalyst. Amongst the many discouraging results of the 1970s, there were more than enough results that were sufficiently encouraging to demonstrate that, by careful design, supported metal complex catalysts could be prepared in which both the metal complex and the support combined together to produce an active catalyst which, due to the combination of support and complex, had advantages of activity, selectivity and specificity not found in homogeneous catalysts. Thus a new generation of catalysts was being developed.
Book Synopsis Preparation of Catalysts VI by : G. Poncelet
Download or read book Preparation of Catalysts VI written by G. Poncelet and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1995-03-24 with total page 1205 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The organizers of this Sixth Symposium maintained their initial objectives, namely to gather experts from both industries and universities to discuss the scientific problems involved in the preparation of heterogeneous catalysts, and to encourage as much as possible the presentation of research work on catalysts of real industrial significance. Another highlight of these symposia is to reserve a substantial part of the program to new developments in catalyst preparation, new preparation methods and new catalytic systems. The fact that chemical reactions which were hardly conceivable some years ago have become possible today through the development of appropriate catalytic systems proves that catalysis is in constant progress. The papers in this volume deal with preparation of new catalysts and supports, catalyst preparation via sol-gel methods, supported catalysts and synthesis of nanometer size catalysts.
