Book excerpt: El presente documento recoge las conclusiones de una investigación, en la que a partir de constantes reflexiones sobre mi práctica docente desde las clases de matemáticas surgieron de las inquietudes que me rodeaban frente a mi labor que estaba desempeñando como docente del grado segundo de la institución educativa en la cual laboro en el municipio de Soacha Colombia. Teniendo en cuenta lo anterior, planteé un ejercicio de investigación que me permitiera mejorar los procesos de enseñanza en torno al pensamiento numérico específicamente en las nociones de suma y resta de los estudiantes de grado segundo. Para llevar a cabo este trabajo se propuso bajo la estrategia metodológica de Investigación acción, con un enfoque cualitativo y con la mirada desde el paradigma socio crítico, con el propósito de identificar mis concepciones y detallar críticamente mi práctica docente. En la intervención implementé una secuencia didáctica apoyada con el diseño de guías de actividades y con el material didáctico las regletas de Cuisenaire, para su posterior implementación en las clases de matemáticas del grado segundo. Finalmente, como resultado encuentro que la continua reflexión sobre mi práctica es la que me permite dar un giro positivo en cada una de mis clases, de esta transformación, disposición y dedicación surgen estrategias que centran la atención y motivan a mis estudiantes para lograr un aprendizaje significativo no solo en matemáticas sino en todas las áreas de conocimiento.
