Book excerpt: Stanley always knew that his spiritual aspirations would cause a problem in his relationship with Catherine, but being an apprentice to a powerful metaphysician was the most important thing in his life, and he was totally committed to it. Stanleys, fellow apprentice, John Korner, gets sucked through a magic globe that is really a portal to the fourth dimension. In spite of all the frantic efforts to rescue John, he remains imprisoned in the dreaded lowlands of the fourth dimension by an evil sorcerer who is under the control of demonic forces. Stanley meets an earth zone intelligence, Amouki who decides to assist him in rescuing his friend. She helps him as he travels through dark and dangerous realms on his perilous journey and allows him to experience practically the things about which he has only basic theoretical knowledge. Even though he meets many beings of the light force along the way, this journey is taken at tremendous personal cost as he is forced to take spiritual initiation before his time so he can activate his newly awakened abilities at the crucial moment of confrontation with the dark forces. He will be forced to make a decision that will totally change his life and the lives of those he loves most dearly. Will he ultimately lose the woman he loves, and will all the hardships connected with reaching a new level of consciousness be worth the tremendous effort required to learn the secrets of magic and metaphysics?

Book excerpt: 2014 Reprint of 1935 Edition. Full facsimile of the original edition. Not reproduced with Optical Recognition Software. Clarence Mayer's "Secrets of Metaphysics" occupies a unique place in the history of scientific spiritual metaphysics-a religio-philosophical movement having its origin in 19th century America (often referred to as "New Thought," and not unrelated to Christian Science)-and continues to do so today, thanks to this timely reissue. From its first appearance in 1933 "Secrets of Metaphysics" contributed a truly new type of work to the large and still growing body of instructional and inspirational literature flowing from the various schools of spiritual metaphysics and reaching a public always edified, but still wanting in the knowledge exactly how to apply these wonderful truths. Not that this information was absent from Dr Holmes' own "The Science of Mind" (to which there were really no comparable texts); but what was wanting in the entire field, across all denominational lines, was something like a working manual of the new "science," the emphasis being on its deductive application. Mayer's classic work provides such a manual and for this reason remains timely to this day. Our edition contains a new introduction and list of errata by Arthur Vergara, D.D.

Book excerpt: This title critically examines Mou Zongsan’s philosophical system of moral metaphysics on the level of metaphysics and history philosophy, which combines Confucianism and Kantianism philosophy. Mou Zongsan (1909–1995) is one of the representatives of Modern Confucianism and an important Chinese philosopher of the twentieth century. The two-volume set looks into the problems in the moral metaphysics by Mou and his systematic subversion of Confucianism on three levels: ethics, metaphysics and historical philosophy. In this second volume the author critiques Mou’s philosophical development of Confucianism on the latter two levels. The first part analyzes Mou’s view on conscience as ontology and his interpretation of the heavenly principles in Confucianism, arguing that his theory in fact abolishes Confucian cosmology based on modern scientific concepts and speaks for modern humanity. The second part focuses on Mou’s remolding of historical philosophy based on the concept of freedom of Kant, Hegel, and modern Western philosophy, then assesses his ideological distortions of historical and political concepts in the Confucian tradition. The title will appeal to scholars, students and philosophers interested in Chinese philosophy, Confucian ethics, Neo-Confucianism, and Comparative Philosophy.

Tamdgidi and published by Ahead Publishing House (imprint: Okcir Press). This book was released on 2022-05-01 with total page 590 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Omar Khayyam's Secret: Hermeneutics of the Robaiyat in Quantum Sociological Imagination, by Mohammad H. Tamdgidi, is a twelve-book series of which this book is the fifth volume, subtitled Khayyami Theology: The Epistemological Structures of the Robaiyat in All the Philosophical Writings of Omar Khayyam Leading to His Last Keepsake Treatise. Each book, independently readable, can be best understood as a part of the whole series. In Book 5, to understand the theological epistemology (or, way of knowing God) framing Khayyam's Robaiyat as spread out in all his philosophical works, Tamdgidi further offers the texts and his updated Persian and new English translations and analyses of six primary writings that preceded Khayyam's last keepsake treatise on the universals of existence: 1: Khayyam's annotated Persian translation of Avicenna's sermon in Arabic on God and creation; 2: Khayyam's treatise in Arabic addressed to Nasawi (wrongly regarded as an Avicenna pupil) on the created world and worship duty; 3-5: Khayyam's three treatises in Arabic (all addressed to Abu Taher, to whom Khayyam also dedicated his treatise on algebra) that are separate chapters of a three-part treatise on existence on topics ranging from the necessity of contradiction, determinism, survival, attributes of existents, and the light of intellect on 'existent' as the subject matter of universal science; and 6: Khayyam's treatise in Arabic addressed to Moshkavi (a supportive Shia intellectual) in response to three questions on soul's survival, on the necessity of accidents, and on the nature of time. The most fruitful way of understanding Khayyam's six texts is by regarding them as efforts made at defending his "succession order" thesis implicitly revealed when commenting on Avicenna's sermon and finalized in his last keepsake treatise. The texts served to offer the theological epistemology behind Khayyam's thesis, revealing his creative conceptualist view of existence that informed his poetic way of going about knowing God, creation, and himself within a unitary Islamic creationist-evolutionary worldview. Khayyam's way of knowing God and existence is non-dualistic, non-atomistic, and unitary in worldview, allowing for subject-included objectivity, probabilistic determinism, transcontinuous (or 'discontinuous') creative causality, transdisciplinarity, and transculturalism; it thus fulfils in a prescient way all the eight attributes of the quantum vision. Poetry is most conducive to unitary knowing, and subject-included objectivity must necessarily be self-reflective and thus engage intellective, emotional, and sensible modes of knowing. This explains why Khayyam transcended scholastic learning in favor of a poetic encounter with reality. What he meant by 'Drunkenness,' calling it the highest state of mind known to him, can thus be best understood as a unitary, quantum state of mind achieved by way of his poetry as a meditative art of self-purification. The goal, metaphorically, is to move from a way of knowing things as divisible grapes to a pure and unitary way of knowing them as indivisible Wine-paralleling what we call today moving from chunky Newtonian toward unitary quantum visions of reality. The key for entering Khayyam's secret tent is realizing that what he primarily meant by 'Wine' in his Robaiyat was self-referentially his Robaiyat itself, a key openly hidden therein thanks to his theological epistemology. For him, the Robaiyat was a lifelong work on himself, serving also human spiritual awakening to its place and duty in the succession order of God's creation. It also served his aspiration for a lasting soul. He knew the now-proven worth of his secret magnum opus, and that is why he so much praised his 'Wine.'
