Book Synopsis Human Interaction, Emerging Technologies and Future Applications IV by : Tareq Ahram
Download or read book Human Interaction, Emerging Technologies and Future Applications IV written by Tareq Ahram and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-04-15 with total page 709 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book reports on research and developments in human-technology interaction. A special emphasis is given to human-computer interaction, and its implementation for a wide range of purposes such as healthcare, manufacturing, transportation, and education, among others. The human aspects are analyzed in detail. Innovative studies related to human-centered design, wearable technologies, augmented, virtual and mixed reality simulation, as well as developments and applications of machine learning and AI for different purposes, represent the core of the book. Emerging issues in business, security, and infrastructure are also critically examined, thus offering a timely, scientifically-grounded, but also professionally-oriented snapshot of the current state of the field. The book is based on contributions presented at the 4th International Conference on Human Interaction and Emerging Technologies: Future Applications, IHIET-AI 2021, held on April 28-30, 2021, in Strasbourg, France. It offers a timely survey and a practice-oriented reference guide to researchers and professionals dealing with design and/or management of the new generation of service systems.

Book Synopsis Candid Science Iv: Conversations With Famous Physicists by : Magdolna Hargittai
Download or read book Candid Science Iv: Conversations With Famous Physicists written by Magdolna Hargittai and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2004-04-08 with total page 726 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Candid Science IV: Conversations with Famous Physicists contains 36 interviews with well-known physicists, including 20 Nobel laureates, Templeton Prize winners, Wolf Prize winners, and other luminaries. Physics has been one of the determining fields of science in the past 100 years, playing a conspicuous role not only in science but also in world politics and economics. These in-depth conversations provide a glimpse into the greatest achievements of physics during the past few decades, featuring stories of the discoveries, and showing the human drama behind them. The greatest physicists are brought into close human proximity as if readers were having a conversation with them. The interviewees span a wide range of scientists, from such early giants as Eugene Wigner and Mark Oliphant to members of the youngest generation such as the 2001 Nobel laureate Wolfgang Ketterle. The list includes famous personalities of our time, such as Steven Weinberg, Leon Lederman, Norman Ramsey, Edward Teller, John Wheeler, Mildred Dresselhaus, Maurice Goldhaber, Benoit Mandelbrot, John Polkinghorne, and Freeman Dyson./a
Book Synopsis Interactions at the Soil Colloid by : G.H. Bolt
Download or read book Interactions at the Soil Colloid written by G.H. Bolt and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-11 with total page 605 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: About 20 years ago the emphasis in soil chemistry research switched from studies of problems related to scarcities of plant nutrients to those arising from soil pollutants. The new problems have come about because of the excessive uses of fertilizers, the inputs from farm and industrial wastes, the widespread applications of anthropogenie xenobiotic chemicals, and the deterioration of soil structure resulting from certain modern agriculture practises. The International Society of Soil Science (ISSS) recognized these problems and challenges. A provisional Working Group was set up in 1978 to focus attention on soil colloids with a view to understanding better the interactions wh ich take place at their surfaces. It was recognized that these interactions are fundamental to problems of soil fertility, as weIl as to those of soil pollution. After the group had received the official support of ISSS at its 12th International Congress in New Delhi in 1982 it set as its priority the assembling and evaluation of information, relevant to the soil and environmental sciences, concerning the composition and structure of soil colloids. Prior to that aseries of Position Papers were published in the Bulletin of the International Society of Soil Science (Vol. 61, 1981) outlining the state of knowledge about the composition and properties of soil colloids.
