Book Synopsis The Three Principles of the People by : Yat-sen Sun
Download or read book The Three Principles of the People written by Yat-sen Sun and published by . This book was released on 2011-11 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This translation is made from the tenth edition of the Chinese book issued by the New Age Publishing Company with some of the errors of earlier editions corrected. In view of the prominent and influential position which The Three Principles of the People holds in the Chinese Nationalist movement and because of the difficulty involved in making passages for an abridged edition, Mr. Price has rendered a complete translation. The translation is faithful to the original and yet clear to the English reader. It will be of help to those who have read the book in Chinese and also to those who wish to know the English equivalents for Dr. Sun's ideas, terms and phrases. Three features not in the original Chinese text have been added in the translation: The number of paragraphs has been increased. A few brief notes have been added to explain generally unfamiliar names and references. A brief summary has been placed at the beginning of each chapter. This translation was originally issued under the auspices of the China Committee, Institute of Pacific Relations, as a volume of the "International Understanding Series" with the hope that it will promote a better understanding abroad of the great forces that are now driving China forward.
Book Synopsis Sun Yat-Sen, Nanyang and the 1911 Revolution by : Lee Lai To
Download or read book Sun Yat-Sen, Nanyang and the 1911 Revolution written by Lee Lai To and published by Flipside Digital Content Company Inc.. This book was released on 2003-08-01 with total page 516 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In view of the 100th anniversary of the 1911 Revolution and Sun Yat-sen's relations with the Nanyang communities, the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies and the Chinese Heritage Centre came together to host a two-day bilingual conference on the three-way relationships between Sun Yat-sen, Nanyang and the 1911 Revolution in October 2010 in Singapore. This volume is a collection of papers in English presented at the conference. While there are extensive research and voluminous publications on Sun Yat-sen and the 1911 Revolution, it was felt that less had been done on the Southeast Asian connections. Thus this volume tries to chip in some original and at times provocative analysis on not only Sun Yat-sen and the 1911 Revolution but also contributions from selected Southeast Asian countries.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The significance of Sun Yat-sen's political thought has rarely been appreciated though he is hailed as the Father of Modern China. This is the first extended treatment of the subject, which will be invaluable to sinologists and historians of political thought. Dr Wells first traces the development of Sun's revolutionary ideas from the nineteenth to the twentieth century. She then considers the impact of Sun's political thought on Chinese revolutionary leaders and on Third World countries, arguing that it has been considerable. This subject has never before been so widely explored.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The semiconductor industry is a vital industry for military establishments worldwide, and the control of, or loss of control of, this key industry has enormous strategic implications. This book focuses on the globalization of the strategic semiconductor industry and the security ramifications of this process. It examines in particular the migration of the Taiwanese chip industry to China as part of the globalization of production processes, and the extent to which such a globalization process poses security challenges to the United States, China and Taiwan. Transcending disciplinary boundaries between international political economy, security studies, and the history of science and technology, this multidisciplinary work provides an in-depth understanding of the globalization-security nexus, and disentangles the key policy issues connected to a potential explosive flashpoint in world politics today.
Download or read book The Sian Incident written by Tien-wei Wu and published by U OF M CENTER FOR CHINESE STUDIES. This book was released on 1976-01-01 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When Chiang Kai-shek arrived at Sian in the fall of 1936 and laid plans for launching his last campaign against the Red Army with an expectation of exterminating it in a month, he badly misjudged the mood of the Tungpei (Northeast) Army and more so its leader, Chang Hsueh-liang, better known as the Young Marshal. Refusing to fight the Communists, Chang with the loyal support of his officers staged a coup d’état by kidnapping Chiang Kai-shek for two weeks at Sian. Almost forty years after the melodrama was over, the Sian Incident still absorbs much attention from both Chinese and Western scholars as well as the reading public. The Sian Incident attempts to bring together whatever information has been thus far gleaned about the subject, and to cover all aspects and controversies involved in it. [1, xi, xii]

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of this book, first published in 1936, was to give a complete conspectus of Chinese education at the time. It succeeds in this, describing entirely a period when China had abandoned an age-old system of literary education in favour of one derived from the West. However, the sponsors of the change, while admitting that the immediate new models were Western in origin, were able to point out that their prototypes were, in fact, in ancient China.

(6) Columns for Discount on Purchases and Discount on Notes on the same side of the Cash Book; (c) Columns for Discount on Sales and Cash Sales on the debit side of the Cash Book; (d) Departmental columns in the Sales Book and in the Purchase Book. Controlling Accounts.--The addition of special columns in books of original entry makes possible the keeping of Controlling Accounts. The most common examples of such accounts are Accounts Receivable account and Accounts Payable account. These summary accounts, respectively, displace individual customers' and creditors' accounts in the Ledger. The customers' accounts are then segregated in another book called the Sales Ledger or Customers' Ledger, while the creditors' accounts are kept in the Purchase or Creditors' Ledger. The original Ledger, now much reduced in size, is called the General Ledger. The Trial Balance now refers to the accounts in the General Ledger. It is evident that the task of taking a Trial Balance is greatly simplified because so many fewer accounts are involved. A Schedule of Accounts Receivable is then prepared, consisting of the balances found in the Sales Ledger, and its total must agree with the balance of the Accounts Receivable account shown in the Trial Balance. A similar Schedule of Accounts Payable, made up of all the balances in the Purchase Ledger, is prepared, and it must agree with the balance of the Accounts Payable account of the General Ledger." The Balance Sheet.--In the more elementary part of the text, the student learned how to prepare a Statement of Assets and Liabilities for the purpose of disclosing the net capital of an enterprise. In the present chapter he was shown how to prepare a similar statement, the Balance Sheet. For all practical...
