Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the literature published about Sai Baba of Shirdi, his divine sports are generally described overlaid with the emphasis on Hindu orientation and euology so as to create devotion in the readers' mind for him as a Hindu God or Deity. This has led to creation of his idolatory. There is hardly any literature available that deals with his spiritual mystic wisdom, which can be seen interspersed in his conversations and occasional seemingly, bizzare utterances on certain occasions. He used to suggest certain books to his close devotees for Shravan, Manan and Nidhidhyasan in the conclave of the learned ones among them, and also at times himself making their expositions in his conversations. In the present book an authoritative attempt is made to delineate The Spiritual Mystic Wisdom of Sai Baba based on integration of Sahaj Raj Yoga, Karm Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Jnana Yoga as he used to refer to devotees for their spiritual pursuits. Acharya Purushottamananda, former Professor of Education, Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi, was born on 28" January, 1935 in a Jat Zamindar family with historic tradition of valour and patriotism in Tehsil Iglas of Aligarh District. He came in contact with the Revolutionary movement for the independence of India, and the Arya Samaj Movement under the legendary leadership of Raja Mahendra Pratap of Mursan. He received his education leading to the post-graduation in Political Science at Aligarh. He joined the government of India service in the Ministry of Rehabilitation, but later went for further education. He received Master's degree in Education from the University of Aligarh and also from the University of Manchester, UK. Presently, he is engaged in peripatetic mission by joining spiritual congregation of different orders, where he is welcome; but has no organizational links with any religious or cult organizations.

Book excerpt: The religion that feeds and fosters all religions and emphasizes their common greatness. -Sathya Sai Baba Discipline of the mind is a basic ingredient of genuine morality and, therefore, of spiritual strength. Spiritual power is the eternal guide in this life and the life after, for man ranks supreme among all creatures. Led forward by spiritual power, man can reach the summit destined for him by the great creator. Since nobody can interfere in the realm of God, we should tolerate and live side by side with those of other faiths. In the mystic traditions of different religions, we have a remarkable unity of spirit. Whatever religion they profess, they are spiritual kinsmen. While the different religions in their historic forms bind us to limited groups and militate against the development of loyalty to the world community, the mystics have already stood for the fellowship of humanity in harmony with the spirit of the mystics of ages gone by. No one should question the faith of others, for no human being can judge the ways of God. This is an excerpt from the speech on spiritual progress. -H.I.M. Haile Selassie

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sai Bhagvatham is a story of man's engagement with God. The book uses over a thousand personal spiritual experiences and anecdotes that record inner experiences of persons wrestling with their religious circumstances. The experiences, drawn from all religious traditions, are evocative of the operation of God in the experiences of man. The experiences with Sri Sathya Sai Baba are juxtaposed with the narratives of spiritual experiences recorded by seekers over the millennia. The experiences with Sai are uncannily similar to the universal experiences of man with God; they mirror the journey to the Divine that men and women have experienced. Sai is relentless in the pursuit of his purpose, transformation of man, however much man falters, vacillates, resists, struggles, or even tries to escape. With Sai the spiritual journey is tangible, poignant, accessible, and more intense than ever recorded before. The myriad experiences with Sai are experiences of the Divine at work. They are not fortuitous. Everything is planned and intentional. Sai demonstrates that in the relationship of man with the Divine, God is actively engaged with man; he is not an impassive bystander. The engagement of man with God is planned and activated by God, it progresses based upon the responses of man, and the engagement stimulates the transformation of man. Man, in his engagement with God, asks the 'why' questions, seeking to comprehend and explain God. He is also reflective, attempting to understand himself, and realize who he really is. The diverse and innumerable first person incidents with Sri Sathya Sai Baba create a vivid characterization of the persona of Sai, hence the use of Bhagvatham in the title. The methodology of the book is ethnographic. The author has created new compositional settings for the quotes. The material is pristinely presented to avoid distortion of spiritual meaning, making the material self-interpretive. The diverse spiritual experiences taken together present a story of the transformation of man in the company of God. The use of human experiences as the basis of characterization of engagement of man and God is similar to that taken by William James in the classic 'The Varieties of Religious Experience.' Religious experiences are spontaneous and subjective experiences; man is the touchstone to substantiate the impact of God. Religious experiences have meaning when they result in tangible outcomes; the transformation of the person undergoing the experience.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A radical reinterpretation of the Pyramid Texts as shamanic mystical wisdom rather than funerary rituals • Reveals the mystical nature of Egyptian civilization denied by orthodox Egyptologists • Examines the similarity between the pharaoh’s afterlife voyage and shamanic journeying • Shows shamanism to be the foundation of the Egyptian mystical tradition To the Greek philosophers and other peoples of the ancient world, Egypt was regarded as the home of a profound mystical wisdom. While there are many today who still share that view, the consensus of most Egyptologists is that no evidence exists that Egypt possessed any mystical tradition whatsoever. Jeremy Naydler’s radical reinterpretation of the Pyramid Texts--the earliest body of religious literature to have survived from ancient Egypt--places these documents into the ritual context in which they belong. Until now, the Pyramid Texts have been viewed primarily as royal funerary texts that were used in the liturgy of the dead pharaoh or to aid him in his afterlife journey. This emphasis on funerary interpretation has served only to externalize what were actually experiences of the living, not the dead, king. In order to understand the character and significance of the extreme psychological states the pharaoh experienced--states often involving perilous encounters with alternate realities--we need to approach them as spiritual and religious phenomena that reveal the extraordinary possibilities of human consciousness. It is the shamanic spiritual tradition, argues Naydler, that is the undercurrent of the Pyramid Texts and that holds the key to understanding both the true nature of these experiences and the basis of ancient Egyptian mysticism.

This book was released on 2014-07-09 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bhagawan has announced Himself as the Divine Teacher of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness. By precept and example, through His writings and discourses, letters and conversations, He has been instilling the supreme wisdom and instructing all mankind to translate it into righteous living, inner peace, and universal love. When the Ramakatha Rasavahini, the uniquely authentic, nectarine stream of the Rama’s story, was serialised in full in the Sanathana Sarathi, Bhagawan blessed readers with a new series, which He named Bharatiya Paramartha Vahini (The Stream of Indian Spiritual Values). While these precious essays, on the basic truths that foster and feed Indian culture since ages before history began, were being published, Bhagawan decided to continue the flow of illumination and instruction under a more comprehensive and meaningful name, Sathya Sai Vahini - the Ganga from the Lotus Feet of the Lord - “The Flow of Divine Sai Grace”. This book, therefore, contains the two Vahinis that have merged in one master stream. Inaugurating these series, Bhagawan wrote for publication in the Sanathana Sarathi, “Moved by the urge to cool the heat of conflict and to quench the agonising thirst for ‘knowledge about yourself’ that you are afflicted with, see, here it comes, the Sathya Sai Vahini, wave behind wave, with the Sanathana Sarathi as the medium between you and Me.” With infinite compassion, this Sathya Sai incarnation of the Omniwill is giving millions of persons in all lands freedom from disease, distress, and despair, narcotics, narcissism, and nihilism. He is encouraging those, who suffer gloom through wilful blindness, to light the Lamp of Love in order to see the world and the Lamp of Wisdom to see themselves. “This is a tantalising, true-false world. Its apparent diversity is an illusion. It is One, but is cognised by the maimed, multiple vision of humans as Many,” says Bhagawan. This book is the twin Lamp He has devised for us.
