Book excerpt: TRYSEM dennotes Training of Rural Youth for Self Employment . This national scheme was introducted from Aug.1979 in our country with the main objective of removal of unemployment among rural youth. The present volume is an evaluation study of TRYSEM and deals with the scenario in Rajasthan covering the two districts of Alwar and Bhilwara. The study brings out the the complexities of the rural situation, especially at the grass root level and the interdisciplinary nature of the scheme. It attempts a techno-administrative analysis and socio-economic assessment of the detailed operationalisation of the scheme, sums up the re-actions and views of the people and functionaries involved in the field. After empirical investigation in the field, Dr. Mishra has made meaningful suggestion for better implementation of the scheme and removal of bottle necks in its implementation.
