Download or read book mosaic written by Shreshtha and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2021-07-11 with total page 109 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Just like the world, my mosaic is ambigious, contrastive and full of emotions. Just like this world, your next page is a surprise and so is your next chapter. Mosaic, a masterpiece made from all the undervalued shattered pieces who lack individual appreciation, when molded together, holding and sharing each other, strenuously trying to fall in, fall among, fall into, places. They make a picture, alluring enough to announce a hiatus for art seeking eyes. Whenever a brain extends its vision approaching this world, the mosaic acts like an ersatz. Likely to the world, mosaic’s emotions are evenly categorized and settled in arid parallels of white of wonders and bitter black. Mosaic keeps you grey in the black and white world.
Book Synopsis Wind and Thoughts by : Shainal Verma
Download or read book Wind and Thoughts written by Shainal Verma and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2023-04-03 with total page 295 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Wind and Thoughts isn’t merely a collection of poems; it is a sacred thread of emotions—an override of loving and loss. The book touches upon the lost emotions of everyday sociality. Emotions get brought up during conversations and need a welcoming heart to embrace them. This ‘welcoming’ is the core motivation for Shainal Verma, who intends to invite all the readers to introspect and reflect upon their emotions. Poetry is incomplete without grounding oneself in this simmering pool of emotions. Shainal Verma’s quest is simple, to voice the ‘taken for granted’ emotions as they hold the potential to teach us so much and liberate us. Wind and Thoughts embarks you on a journey of recognizing the different relationships and the value they bring into one’s life, be it a relationship with your mother, father or a friend. It structures down the vast scope of the meaning of love, heartbreak, and what it means to be a woman, making us see beauty in everything, even pain. Wind and Thoughts is the author’s culmination of pure expression. Before you grasp it, ensure you’re ready to reflect on this roller coaster of life.

Book Synopsis The Promise of Piety by : Arsalan Khan
Download or read book The Promise of Piety written by Arsalan Khan and published by Cornell University Press. This book was released on 2024-02-15 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In The Promise of Piety, Arsalan Khan examines the zealous commitment to a distinct form of face-to-face preaching (dawat) among Pakistani Tablighis, practitioners of the transnational Islamic piety movement the Tablighi Jamaat. This group says that Muslims have abandoned their religious duties for worldly pursuits, creating a state of moral chaos apparent in the breakdown of relationships in the family, nation, and global Islamic community. Tablighis insist that this dire situation can only be remedied by drawing Muslims back to Islam through dawat, which they regard as the sacred means for spreading Islamic virtue. In a country founded in the name of Muslim identity and where Islam is ubiquitous in public life, the Tablighi claim that Pakistani Muslims have abandoned Islam is particularly striking. The Promise of Piety shows how Tablighis constitute a distinct form of pious relationality in the ritual processes and everyday practices of dawat and how pious relationality serves as a basis for transforming domestic and public life. Khan explores both the promise and limits of the Tablighi project of creating an Islamic moral order that can transcend the political fragmentation and violence of life in postcolonial Pakistan.

His words resonate with a timeless wisdom, echoing the themes of selfhood, love, and the quest for meaning. It is in this spirit of admiration and inspiration that I embark on a journey to express my own reflections through this collection of nazms. This book is a heartfelt tribute to the essence of Iqbal’s philosophy, an exploration of Khudi (selfhood) and the boundless beauty of existence. Each nazm herein is an invitation to delve into the intricacies of the human experience, where joy and sorrow intertwine, where dreams are woven with reality. In these verses, I aim to channel the profound sentiments that Iqbal so eloquently articulated, blending traditional Urdu and Persian influences to capture the rhythmic cadence of thought and emotion. These nazms, crafted with a deep sense of introspection, reflect my journey and the universal quest for truth and connection. I hope that through these pages, readers will find echoes of their own hearts and souls, igniting a spark of inspiration akin to what I have experienced. May this collection serve as a reminder of the beauty of Khudi, the strength found in resilience, and the unwavering light of hope that guides us all.

Book Synopsis Love in the Time of Hate by : Rakhshanda Jalil
Download or read book Love in the Time of Hate written by Rakhshanda Jalil and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2024-05-14 with total page 434 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Kabhi hum bhi tum bhi thhe aashna tumhein yaad ho ke na yaad ho Once you and I were friends, whether you remember it now or not--Momin Khan Momin This is a book about love—love for one’s country and for all that goes to make it one we can be proud to belong to. Poetry, it has been said, flourishes when all else is uncertain. With that in mind, renowned literary historian and translator, Rakhshanda Jalil, uses Urdu poetry to look at how the social fabric of secular India is changing. Rakhshanda delves into the past, to the events that have threatened communal harmony, from the bloodletting of partition, or the politics of successive elections, to communal riots, Mumbai, Gujarat and so on, to the present moment, to recent events around Ayodhya, cow slaughter and ‘love jihad’. The book is divided into four sections: politics, people, passions, places. Strewn with delightful, thoughtful Urdu couplets that bring depth, lyricism and gravitas to the narratives, the writer cautions us against current popular sentiments based on hating the ‘other’. Living in an India that now requires us to be resolutely one or the ‘other’, all of us are losing the wonderful capacity to contain within ourselves many seemingly diverse ideologies and beliefs which is a motif that is reiterated through the verses and words in this book. The section titled ‘People’ has the most delightful, charming vignettes of popular icons, from Tipu Sultan and Rani Lakshmi Bai to Gandhi and Nehru, from Ghalib and Majaz to Dilip Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar, viewed through an Urdu lens that makes each person memorable, unique and an advocate of peace and unity. From essays doused in the language of secular patriotism like Har Dil Tiranga, to pieces redolent with nostalgia like Dopahar ki Dhoop Mein, Rakhshanda invokes the power of love, inclusivity and communal harmony that is the trademark of poetry and literature, and which must continue to permeate the way we live our lives if we want to bequeath a meaningful legacy to the generations to come in our country.
