Download or read book Robust Control System Design written by Chia-Chi Tsui and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2003-12-11 with total page 279 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Robust Control System Design: Advanced State Space Techniques, Second Edition expands upon a groundbreaking and combinatorial approach to state space control system design that fully realizes the critical loop transfer function and robustness properties of state/generalized state feedback control. This edition offers many new examples and exercises to illustrate and clarify new design concepts, approaches, and procedures while highlighting the fact that state/generalized state feedback control can improve system performance and robustness more effectively than other forms of control. Revised and expanded throughout, the second edition presents an improved eigenstructure assignment design method that enhances system performance and robustness more directly and effectively and allows for adjustment of design formulations based on design testing and simulation. The author proposes the systematic controller order adjustment for the tradeoff between performance and robustness based on the complete unification of the state feedback control and static output feedback control. The book also utilizes a more accurate robust stability measure to guide control designs.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a synthesized design principle versus the existing separation principle of modern control theory of over six decades since the start. Guided by this new principle, a generalized state feedback control can be designed based on the parameters of observer and for a great majority of plant systems, and the robust property of this control can be fully realized. The robust property of the existing state feedback control which is designed separate from the parameters of its realizing observer, cannot be realized for a great majority of plant systems. By freely design and adjust the observer order, the corresponding generalized state feedback control can unify completely the existing state feedback control and static output feedback control, and can adjust effectively the tradeoff between performance and robustness. This generalized state feedback control can assign eigen-structure, and can improve performance and robustness far more effectively than the control designed using classical control theory. Equally significant, the results of this book are very simple that can be comprehended and grasped very easily. These results are introduced and illustrated from the basic level, and use only the basic mathematical tools. Ample examples and exercise problems that can be solved by hand computation, are provided. This third edition made substantial improvement on this aspect. Modern control theoreticians only formulated the feedback control design problem in various ways, the point however is to really solve this problem.
Book Synopsis Robust Control Design for Active Driver Assistance Systems by : Péter Gáspár
Download or read book Robust Control Design for Active Driver Assistance Systems written by Péter Gáspár and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-11-18 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph focuses on control methods that influence vehicle dynamics to assist the driver in enhancing passenger comfort, road holding, efficiency and safety of transport, etc., while maintaining the driver’s ability to override that assistance. On individual-vehicle-component level the control problem is formulated and solved by a unified modelling and design method provided by the linear parameter varying (LPV) framework. The global behaviour desired is achieved by a judicious interplay between the individual components, guaranteed by an integrated control mechanism. The integrated control problem is also formalized and solved in the LPV framework. Most important among the ideas expounded in the book are: application of the LPV paradigm in the modelling and control design methodology; application of the robust LPV design as a unified framework for setting control tasks related to active driver assistance; formulation and solution proposals for the integrated vehicle control problem; proposal for a reconfigurable and fault-tolerant control architecture; formulation and solution proposals for the plug-and-play concept; detailed case studies. Robust Control Design for Active Vehicle Assistance Systems will be of interest to academic researchers and graduate students interested in automotive control and to control and mechanical engineers working in the automotive industry. Advances in Industrial Control aims to report and encourage the transfer of technology in control engineering. The rapid development of control technology has an impact on all areas of the control discipline. The series offers an opportunity for researchers to present an extended exposition of new work in all aspects of industrial control.

Download or read book Robust Control Design written by Theodore E. Djaferis and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-27 with total page 269 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To a large extent, our lives on this earth depend on systems that operate auto matically. Manysuchsystems can be found in nature and others are man made. These systems can be biological, electrical, mechanical, chemical, or ecological, to namejust a few categories. Our human body is full ofsystems whose conti nued automatic operation is vital for our existence. On a daily basis we come in contact with man made systems whose automatic operation ensures increa sed productivity, promotes economic development and improves the quality of life. A primary component that is responsible for the automatic operation of a system is a device or mechanism called the controller. In man made systems one must first design and then implement such a controller either as a piece of hardware or as software code in a computer. The safe and efficient automatic operation of such systems is testimony to the success of control theorists and practitioners over the years. This book presents new methods {or controller design. The process ofdeveloping a controller or control strategy can be dramatically improved if one can generate an appropriate dynamic model for the system under consideration. Robust control design deals with the question of how to develop such controllers for system models with uncertainty. In many cases dynamic models can be expressed in terms oflinear, time invariant differential equations or transfer functions.

Book Synopsis Robust Control Systems with Genetic Algorithms by : Mo Jamshidi
Download or read book Robust Control Systems with Genetic Algorithms written by Mo Jamshidi and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-10-03 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years, new paradigms have emerged to replace-or augment-the traditional, mathematically based approaches to optimization. The most powerful of these are genetic algorithms (GA), inspired by natural selection, and genetic programming, an extension of GAs based on the optimization of symbolic codes. Robust Control Systems with Genetic Algorithms builds a bridge between genetic algorithms and the design of robust control systems. After laying a foundation in the basics of GAs and genetic programming, it demonstrates the power of these new tools for developing optimal robust controllers for linear control systems, optimal disturbance rejection controllers, and predictive and variable structure control. It also explores the application of hybrid approaches: how to enhance genetic algorithms and programming with fuzzy logic to design intelligent control systems. The authors consider a variety of applications, such as the optimal control of robotic manipulators, flexible links and jet engines, and illustrate a multi-objective, genetic algorithm approach to the design of robust controllers with a gasification plant case study. The authors are all masters in the field and clearly show the effectiveness of GA techniques. Their presentation is your first opportunity to fully explore this cutting-edge approach to robust optimal control system design and exploit its methods for your own applications.
