Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There have been many scrolls written in the past by Dr. York and the Nuwaupian Nation challenging the doctrines of various religious groups. Scrolls such as "360 Questions To Ask A Hebrew Israelite," "360 Questions To Ask The Israelite Church," "360 Questions To Ask A Christian," "360 Questions To Ask An Orthodox Sunni Muslim," "120 Questions To Ask A 5%er," as well as the debate series with Jehovah's Witnesses and the Nation of Islam, have all been used by Nuwaupians to dismantle the teachings of those respective doctrines. While it IS good practice to thoroughly investigate any field of study or disciple one takes an interest in pursuing, this very practice seems to be conveniently discarded by those who delight in using it to "disprove" the validity of every ideology except their own; Nuwaupu. This work is a compilation of but some of the teachings that I call into question. At the time this work was being compiled, it was originally meant to be a packet that I personally addressed, and mailed, to Dr. York himself during his prison sentence in the Admax facility in Colorado. Unfortunately, it was returned due to the fact that I was not on the list of individuals from whom he could receive mail. Being unable to find such an individual with whom I could trust to deliver this work, I have decided to make these things public with the hope that I receive thorough answers for my inquiries.

Book excerpt: Winner, 2021 AERA Outstanding Book Award Winner, 2021 AERA Division F New Scholar's Book Award Winner, 2020 Mary Kelley Book Prize, given by the Society for Historians of the Early American Republic Winner, 2020 Outstanding Book Award, given by the History of Education Society Uncovers the hidden role of girls and women in the desegregation of American education The story of school desegregation in the United States often begins in the mid-twentieth-century South. Drawing on archival sources and genealogical records, Kabria Baumgartner uncovers the story’s origins in the nineteenth-century Northeast and identifies a previously overlooked group of activists: African American girls and women. In their quest for education, African American girls and women faced numerous obstacles—from threats and harassment to violence. For them, education was a daring undertaking that put them in harm’s way. Yet bold and brave young women such as Sarah Harris, Sarah Parker Remond, Rosetta Morrison, Susan Paul, and Sarah Mapps Douglass persisted. In Pursuit of Knowledge argues that African American girls and women strategized, organized, wrote, and protested for equal school rights—not just for themselves, but for all. Their activism gave rise to a new vision of womanhood: the purposeful woman, who was learned, active, resilient, and forward-thinking. Moreover, these young women set in motion equal-school-rights victories at the local and state level, and laid the groundwork for further action to democratize schools in twentieth-century America. In this thought-provoking book, Baumgartner demonstrates that the confluence of race and gender has shaped the long history of school desegregation in the United States right up to the present.

The book takes the form of a personal meditation: it is one person’s attempt to reflect philosophically upon vital aspects of his existence. It shows how profound philosophy can swiftly emerge from intense private reflection upon the details of one’s life and, thus, will help the reader take the first steps toward philosophical self-understanding. Along the way, readers will encounter moments of puzzlement, then clarity, followed by more perplexity and further insights, and then—finally—some philosophical peace of mind.

Book excerpt: Arming Americans to defend the truth from today's war on facts “In what could be the timeliest book of the year, Rauch aims to arm his readers to engage with reason in an age of illiberalism.” —Newsweek A New York Times Book Review Editors' Choice Disinformation. Trolling. Conspiracies. Social media pile-ons. Campus intolerance. On the surface, these recent additions to our daily vocabulary appear to have little in common. But together, they are driving an epistemic crisis: a multi-front challenge to America's ability to distinguish fact from fiction and elevate truth above falsehood. In 2016 Russian trolls and bots nearly drowned the truth in a flood of fake news and conspiracy theories, and Donald Trump and his troll armies continued to do the same. Social media companies struggled to keep up with a flood of falsehoods, and too often didn't even seem to try. Experts and some public officials began wondering if society was losing its grip on truth itself. Meanwhile, another new phenomenon appeared: “cancel culture.” At the push of a button, those armed with a cellphone could gang up by the thousands on anyone who ran afoul of their sanctimony. In this pathbreaking book, Jonathan Rauch reaches back to the parallel eighteenth-century developments of liberal democracy and science to explain what he calls the “Constitution of Knowledge”—our social system for turning disagreement into truth. By explicating the Constitution of Knowledge and probing the war on reality, Rauch arms defenders of truth with a clearer understanding of what they must protect, why they must do—and how they can do it. His book is a sweeping and readable description of how every American can help defend objective truth and free inquiry from threats as far away as Russia and as close as the cellphone.

Book excerpt: We are now living through a period of knowledge capitalism in which, as Castells put it, 'the action of knowledge upon knowledge is the main source of productivity.' In the face of such transformation, the economic, social and institutional contours of contemporary capitalism are being reshaped. At the heart of this world are an emergent set of economies, regions, institutions and peoples central of the flows and translations of knowledge. This book provides an interdisciplinary review of the triad of knowledge, space, economy on entering the twenty-first century. Drawing on a variety of disciplinary backgrounds, the first part of the book comprises a set of statements by leading authors on the role of knowledge in capitalism. Thereafter, the remaining two parts of the book explore the landscape of knowledge capitalism through a series of analyses of knowledge in action within a range of economic, political and cultural contexts. Bringing together a set of authors from across the social sciences, this book provides both a major theoretical statement on understanding the economic world and an empirical exemplification of the power of knowledge in shaping the spaces and places of today's society.

Book excerpt: One of the greatest contradictions in the Spiritual Life is that it is very important you should know a great deal about yourself, and at the same time, that you should think very little about yourself. In A Right View of Yourself, the esteemed Rev. Fr. Frederick Faber will lead you through a journey of self-knowledge. With gentleness, candor and wisdom, he digs deeply into the normal state of a soul, the effects of fatigue, the necessity for spiritual rest, struggles with temptation and scruples and how to view rightly our faults. He provides instruction on how to avoid devilish perils that you may encounter along the way: heightened sensitivity, emotionalism, and worst of all sentimentality. Throughout his work, he remains consistently optimistic about the divine possibilities self-knowledge can reveal. He prepares you to begin this journey governed by faith, humility and confidence in God's mercy and love. No knowledge in the world can be more interesting than to know how you stand with God and A Right View of Yourself will help you see yourself as He does.
