Download or read book No Rhyme No Reason written by Cheryl Crashley and published by FriesenPress. This book was released on 2013-04 with total page 94 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I have found by giving events that are sad, worrisome or whimsical a second glance I could often give it a new look. Even find it a funny bone or give it a sense of humor. My writings have their own rhyme, rhythm and reason for being. An internal tide pushes the thoughts, then pulls...compelling again, drawing my pen to the paper. Just as the moon creates and ebb and a flow, words too wash back then forth tumbling and soaking the page.

Book excerpt: Some Rhyme, No Reason is a collection of poems that reflect my response(s) to life, in general. I was inspired to "collect" them by a member of the amazing group of poets to which I have the pleasure of belonging. These lovely people, Alyce, Barry, Carlos, Jazz, Oak, and Victoria, provide loving, gentle criticism and, more importantly, they keep me writing. Writing poetry keeps me sane and helps me "deal". In lieu of the great American novel, I give you "Some Rhyme" in hopes it might help you "deal" as well.

Looking at life with a child-like perspective, with simple and thought provoking rhymes, the author draws our attention to how much we take for granted in our lives. How much, of what we already have, we can enjoy and appreciate if only we could drop the boundaries weve created in our minds. Ever since she was a little girl, the author has tended to write in rhyme. Most of these poems were written by her between the ages of 9 to 18.
Book Synopsis I'm Just No Good at Rhyming by : Chris Harris
Download or read book I'm Just No Good at Rhyming written by Chris Harris and published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. This book was released on 2017-09-26 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The instant New York Times bestseller featured on NPR's Weekend Edition with Scott Simon! B. J. Novak (bestselling author of The Book With No Pictures) described this groundbreaking poetry collection as "Smart and sweet, wild and wicked, brilliantly funny--it's everything a book for kids should be." Lauded by critics as a worthy heir to such greats as Silverstein, Seuss, Nash and Lear, Harris's hilarious debut molds wit and wordplay, nonsense and oxymoron, and visual and verbal sleight-of-hand in masterful ways that make you look at the world in a whole new wonderfully upside-down way. With enthusiastic endorsements from bestselling luminaries such as Lemony Snicket, Judith Viorst, Andrea Beaty, and many others, this entirely unique collection offers a surprise around every corner. Adding to the fun: Lane Smith, bestselling creator of beloved hits like It's a Book and The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales, has spectacularly illustrated this extraordinary collection with nearly one hundred pieces of appropriately absurd art. It's a mischievous match made in heaven! "Ridiculous, nonsensical, peculiar, outrageous, possibly deranged--and utterly, totally, absolutely delicious. Read it! Immediately!" --Judith Viorst, bestselling author of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Book Synopsis Rhymes for No Reason by : Anton Wills-Eve
Download or read book Rhymes for No Reason written by Anton Wills-Eve and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2013-01-09 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This small selection from the poems I have written in English in 2012 is aimed mainly at showing how the different styles of versification and rhyme, especially free or blank verse, have changed in the past year. What matters with the poems in this book is that the readers should imagine they are experiencing the stories, thoughts and ideas for themselves alone and not adhering rigidly to any particular metric pattern or established form. The fact that many of the samples are in fact stories is no coincidence. I find that doing a brief resume of a novel in verse first then makes it much easier to write the ensuing book. Indeed the novel I am currently writing, Locked in and Locked Out, is based largely on two of the poems in this selection. As this is the road down which modern poets are meandering more and more, I am happy to be with them on their pilgrimage as I hope my readers will be also. Anton Wills-Eve December 2012.
