She began teaching and coaching girl's school sports in 1984. She holds a Professional Certificate in Photography from the University of California, SanDiego. She is a member of the Women In Military Service For America Memorial Foundation, Inc., Washington, D.C.;WAVESNational - Stars and Stripes of San Diego, California; American Legion Post #3, Findlay, Ohio; California Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation andDance; and the North County Photographic Society, Encinitas, California.
