Ironbound District of Newark, along the shores of the Passaic River and named for the network of railroads that encloses it. The Portuguese are the largest single ethnic element of the 54 groups that live in that district. Before it was demolished, the front lobby was saved and it served as the entrance to an apartment complex and was also in use as a bar.
