From the Official record of the Dispensary, now in the custody of the Board of Regents of the Long Is land College Hospital, which bears upon its back the title Diarium, we learn that the first case was treated on March 17, 1856; that the patient's name was Louis Prell, that he lived at no. 3 Hamilton Avenue, and that he was suffering from Splenitis chronica.
