Major change requires staff to adapt quickly to new situations. It is in this context that the book Professional Accompaniment Model for Change. For Innovative Leadership is a valuable reference tool for reflection, implementation, analysis, and evaluation of a professional change accompaniment process. This process facilitates the updating of practices and the development of professional competencies required to accompany the change. The competencies are fully described in the book Professional Competencies for Accompanying Change. A Frame of Reference, which complements the model.

Book excerpt: This Open Access book presents feedback from the ‘Territorial Agroecological Transition in Action’- TATA-BOX research project, which was devoted to these specific issues. The multidisciplinary and multi-organisation research team steered a four-year action-research process in two territories of France. It also presents: i) the key dimensions to be considered when dealing with agroecological transition: diversity of agriculture models, management of uncertainties, polycentric governance, autonomies, and role of actors’ networks; ii) an operational and original participatory process and associated boundary tools to support local stakeholders in shifting from a shared diagnosis to a shared action plan for transition, and in so doing developing mutual understanding and involvement; iii) an analysis of the main effects of the methodology on research organisation and on stakeholders’ development and application; iv) critical analysis and foresights on the main outcomes of TATA-BOX, provided by external researchers.

Book excerpt: Analysing language data systematically and looking closely at how people formulate their thoughts can reveal astonishing insights about the human mind. Without presupposing specific subject knowledge, this book gently introduces its readers to theoretical insights as well as practical principles for systematic linguistic analysis from a cognitive perspective. Drawing on Thora Tenbrink's twenty years' experience in both linguistics and cognitive science, this book offers theoretical guidance and practical advice for doing cognitive discourse analysis. It covers areas of analysis as diverse as attention, perspective, granularity, certainty, inference, transformation, communication, and cognitive strategies, using inspiring examples from many different projects. Simple techniques and tools are used to allow readers new to the subject easy ways to apply the methods, without the need for complex technologies, whilst the cross-disciplinary approach can be applied to a diverse range of research purposes and contexts in which language and thought play a role.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is widely accepted by occupational therapists working in diverse settings that collaboration is a valuable part of teamwork. But what collaboration actually looks like in education--and how to do it effectively to promote student performance--can be vastly different depending on one's perspectives and experiences. This practical work highlights how occupational therapists can collaborate effectively with family and education partners in the schools. The editors and contributors--experts in school-based practice--have collected evidence from the occupational therapy, school psychology, and education literature as well as reflected on their own experiences to describe the successes and challenges school-based occupational therapists encounter daily when providing collaborative services and supports to students, teams, and school systems. Each chapter includes Voices--perspectives of students, parents, educators, administrators, and occupational therapy students and rofessionals; Collaboration in Action--vignettes from practice; Remember This--key points to keep in mind; Resources--print and electronic; and Reflections--questions that apply the chapter's content to specific situations. A collection of blank forms and worksheets is included in the appendix as well as on a CD-ROM for ease of use in the classroom and in practice.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Teams are commonly celebrated as efficient and humane ways of organizing work and learning. By means of a series of in-depth case studies of teams in the United States and Finland over a time span of more than 10 years, this book shows that teams are not a universal and ahistorical form of collaboration. Teams are best understood in their specific activity contexts and embedded in historical development of work. Today, static teams are increasingly replaced by forms of fluid knotworking around runaway objects that require and generate new forms of expansive learning and distributed agency. This book develops a set of conceptual tools for analysis and design of transformations in collaborative work and learning.
