Les injonctions au travail collaboratif des enseignants se font de plus en plus pressantes et il devenait nécessaire de faire état de résultats de recherches, particulièrement sous l’angle d’expériences de collaboration, sur les pratiques enseignantes plutôt que sur les pratiques d’enseignement réservées au face-à-face pédagogique de l’enseignant face aux élèves et davantage étudiées. Bien que le développement professionnel semble devoir passer par l’injonction du travail en collaboration, des auteurs de cet ouvrage soulignent à juste titre que le travail en collaboration ne constitue pas une base historique du travail des enseignants. Concrètement, que signifie travailler en collaboration ou en coopération pour des enseignants ? La coordination de pratiques peut se prescrire, mais pas la collaboration entre enseignants. D’où l’importance de cet ouvrage pour permettre l’accès à des études sur les pratiques actualisées, au-delà des pratiques prescrites. Cet ouvrage comble donc le besoin de documenter des expériences correspondant à cette forme de travail somme toute nouvelle. Des contributions provenant de divers lieux (Belgique, France, Québec, Suisse), dans des contextes différents (écoles préscolaires-primaires, secondaires en situation de réformes ; expérience de suivi pluriannuel d’élèves), à propos de catégories d’acteurs (enseignants, enseignants-chercheurs à l’université). Des études faisant appel à diverses méthodologies (études de cas, entretiens, observations, analyse de documents, questionnaire), plusieurs faisant appel à plus d’un outil méthodologique ; la majorité privilégiant les études qualitatives. L’ensemble des contributions permet de mettre en évidence un certain nombre de résultats convergents en rapport avec la thématique, quant à l’accompagnement nécessaire, des conditions à mettre en place, des obstacles (souvent structurels), des exigences. Des résultats dont on pourra s’inspirer à la fois pour initier de nouvelles recherches mais aussi pour aller plus loin dans la mise en œuvre de pratiques collaboratives.

While there is an increased focus across teacher education and professional literature on enhancing the assessment capacity of educators, there remains little empirical research on innovative and data-based strategies to effectively achieve this goal. The purpose of this text is to consolidate existing research on assessment education and to provoke innovative and effective approaches to educating teachers and teachers-in-training about assessment. Given the dearth of relevant research, this text also considers the matter of retention and extension of initial assessment learning into teaching careers. Combined, the articles in this text provide a foundation for novel thinking about developing teachers’ assessment capacity from pre-service to in-service contexts.
