Irrespective of your desires in life, other people's aims, ambitions and activities constitute vital influence on your journey of life. You will never get far without the co-operation and comradeship of fellow men. If you want something in your life you've never had, you'll have to do something, you've never done. Celebrate and enjoy all that you create or have created. To reject any part of it is to reject part of yourself. Whatever it is that presents itself as your creation, claim it, own it, bless it and be thankful for it. Seek not to condemn it (“God damn it!”), for to condemn it is to condemn yourself. If there is some aspect of creation you find you do not enjoy, bless it and simply change it. Choose again. Call forth a new reality. Think a new thought. Say a new word. Do a new thing. Do this magnificently and the rest of the world will follow you Get prepared to overcome your fears. A lot of people feel insecure when they are challenged to make changes. Change has threatened the emotional stability of many people over the years. The triggers have often hindered many people from adjusting their personal characteristics to build self-esteem. Change is merely our ability to modify our ways in order to make constructive transformations. We can use a variation of techniques in order to change our personal characteristics. Change is the commitment to adjust to something new and involves a series of adjustments that help us to improve our life.

The work provides concrete guidelines for teachers, parents, managers, and therapists who are responsible for developing the self-esteem of others. Whether it’s online or at school, with friends, parents, bullies, cliques or crushes—any tricky situation life throws yours way. Your thoughts and feelings matter just as much as everyone else’s—you just need to find your voice. Express Yourself offers skills based in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help you create positive interactions with others and deal with difficult emotions that can arise from bullying or dealing with mean girls. The book also provides easy-to-use strategies that will boost your self-esteem and confidence, and you’ll discover tons of assertive communication skills you can use every day, including how to speak up when you are upset, asking for what you want in a clear assertive manner, and coping when intense emotions threaten to take over and sabotage your relationships. In our modern world of social media and texting, strong communication skills are needed more than ever. This book will not only give you the tools needed to speak up in everyday or difficult situations, but it will also provide powerful advice for effectively communicating in the digital world.

Book excerpt: Ready to make your life genuine, satisfy your needs for creativity and self-expression and to establish harmonious coexistence with other people? These are the rudiments of self-esteem. Self-confidence, that is, an internal awareness of one's ability to achieve something that one strives with all one's soul, must certainly become a hallmark of the character of every person who wants to live their lives with dignity and happiness. Only confident people can learn to respect themselves. That is why you need to understand how to grow and nurture a healthy self-esteem. Before gaining firmness of mind and confidence in the decisions made, you should feel yourself a valuable and necessary person! After all, if you do not have a sense of self-esteem, then how can you be sure that your decisions are worth something? In this book, I suggest several reliable ways to cure self-doubt. These are backed with exercises that help you progress and attain the highest level of self-esteem easily, and in no time! These methods have helped many readers of my books. They will help you too! Key ideas Man is the only one of all species on Earth who is able to build his consciousness to achieve goals. You learn to see that not to use your mind and not to train it is a crime in relation to yourself. You learn to be mature and to act in accordance with your principles, and not on the basis of emotions. A person who is overwhelmed with emotions is immature. You learn how to listen to your voice of reason to gain large doses of healthy self-esteem. You learn to understand that anxiety and depression signal a disease of the mind. To cope with it, I teach you how to rediscover your own values. You learn how to be sincere with yourself, set personal goals and stick with them to the end. It is typical for people with high self-esteem that they are sincere with themselves. People who live up to the expectations of others are never in harmony with themselves. They suffer when they do not find support in others, and move away from themselves. You learn how to deal with optimism and fear. I outline how you can pump optimism and confidence in a steady, unending dose. Self-esteem is our deepest need, which we must develop. Do not look for excuses. Strive for self-development. Master your emotions and get rid of anxieties. Start to examine your ideas about yourself. To start, offer yourself a rigorous analysis of your beliefs. Remember, as long as a person pulls a load of beliefs and ideas imposed on them, they will not be able to take a step on the path to the disclosure of their true essence. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ten Days to Self-esteem The Leader's Manual To date, Dr. David Burns's classic Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy has sold more than two and a half million copies. Many people are unaware of the real secret of this book's phenomenal success. Published studies have shown that two thirds of the depressed people who have read Dr. Burns's Feeling Good recovered on their own in just four weeks without any professional treatment at all! Even more astonishing is the fact that 77% of these readers maintained their positive outlook for at least two years after reading Feeling Good. That's why Feeling Good has become a perennial best-seller -- because this book provides hope, compassion, and actual healing for people suffering from depression. Now Dr. Burns offers a powerful new tool with the creation of his Ten Days to Self-esteem: The Leader's Manual. This book, along with the accompanying participant's workbook (Ten Days to Self-esteem), will show you how to develop exciting short-term groups -- based on the principles in Feeling Good -- that will help people from all walks of life overcome depression and develop greater self-esteem and greater joy in daily living. Extensive pilot testing of this program reveals that the groups are suitable for high-functioning, sophisticated people with mild mood problems as well as for less educated people and those with severe- emotional difficulties. The groups can be conducted by mental health professionals in a variety of settings, including: hospitals and clinics day treatment programs high schools and universities corporations twelve-step programs as well as other self-help organizations churches and synagogues correctional facilities HMOs and EAPs This is a time of great challenge for mental health professionals because of severe cutbacks in funding for psychiatric and psychological services. HMOs and other managed health care providers are asking, "Can you provide quality outpatient treatment in only a handful of sessions? Can you provide a meaningful and healing inpatient experience in a matter of days instead of weeks or months?" This book reveals an entirely new, cost-effective model for helping the majority of people quickly and compassionately. This ten-session training program includes topics such as: "The Price of Happiness" (Step 1) "How to Break Out of a Bad Mood" (Step 4) "Self-esteem -What Is It? How Do I Get It?" (Step 7) "The Perfectionist's Script for Self-defeat" (Step 8) "A Prescription for Procrastinators" (Step 9) "Self-esteem and Spirituality" (Step 10) This Leader's Manual contains clear and detailed instructions for every session in the program. Even if you do not have extensive group experience, the manual will show you how to make your very first group a resounding success. As you develop the program, you will be breaking new ground for people suffering from depression, loneliness, anxiety, and addictions who wish to enrich their lives and feel good about themselves once again!

It is a collection of valuable practical pieces of advice. Use the "magical recipes" that have already helped dozens of women to start loving themselves. If you don't love yourself, you're not satisfied with yourself and the results of your life up to that point. When you compare yourself with someone else over and over, you feel disappointed. When you criticize your every action, you're always unhappy. Your reflection in the mirror doesn't create positive feelings, but rather becomes another source of negativity. Sometimes you may truly believe that you are the biggest loser ever. You often ignore your own needs and desires. You lack love. If you're single, you strive to attract your soul mate and hope that with his coming you will feel loved. At the same time, you think that there may be no one who could love you. If you have a partner, his love is not enough. You live with a feeling of not being loved, appreciated, or respected enough. You blame yourself constantly for any mistakes that have happened in your past. "How could I have screwed things up so much?!" - you angrily think. Not loving yourself is not only an internal and invisible process, but it affects your life, too. How does low self-esteem affect your relationships? Well, your partner behaves in such a way that he is not afraid of losing you. He may promise (and quickly forget), he may insult you, cheat on you, and still pretend that all is fine. He may even hit you. This behavior doesn't cause any active resistance from your side though. Of course, you may complain about him but most likely, you tend to tolerate the behavior. Your self-esteem is too low and his dignity is too high. In this case you're afraid to lose "your tormentor" and you live with the dead-end belief that you will meet no one better. People with low self-esteem are prone to explicit and implicit jealousy attacks. With a certain periodicity you'll be jealous of your partner's past relationships, casual small talks, and his colleagues. Coming up with a reason for suspicion is not a big deal for you, you're good at this. Stupid jealousy is what hinders the healthy relationships. As for the girls who are not in relationships, the low self-esteem is not less destructive. It may be hard to believe that there will be a man who can fall in love with you with all his heart! Sometimes a girl doesn't allow relationships with a man to develop, believing that he is too good for her. With similar actions (or inactions) you simply push a new boyfriend away "give" him a more worthy, in your opinion, woman. Lack of self-love pushes you to conquer the men. You don't believe that the members of the opposite sex may be interested in you. Therefore, as soon as you meet an attractive man, you start to run after him and show an excessive interest. This most likely will lead to nothing and may scare this man. Your low self-esteem may also affect your career success. Sometimes, you may be afraid of sharing your own opinion and thus block any opportunities. You seem to be no one special, and therefore, your results have little or no value. This is why you choose to sit quietly and not stick out! If you created something, you would definitely be showered with a wave of criticism! Lack of self-love makes you less demanding in regards to income as well. This is why you may work in a low paying job and earn less than you serve. Your life strategy is to tolerate poor working conditions and a bad attitude of your manager. Your self-esteem cannot but affect your quality of life. It's enough to look around and note the conditions in which you live. You may put an equals sign between self-love and everything that surrounds you. After all, your surroundings are just a reflection of your inner self-attitude. Increase your self-esteem and your life will improve.
