Book excerpt: Waste Engine Oils presents a complete description of the field of engine used oils, widely collected in the networks of services-stations and garages. It describes the manufacture of base oils in refineries, and mentions the main additives playing an essential role in the quality of the marketed finished oils. The organization of the different systems of collecting in order to obtain a waste oil regenerable or used as fuel are explained. This book covers the main operations of physical and chemical treatments required in waste oil regeneration by covering the fundamental principles techniques such as vacuum distillation, solvent deasphalting, and ultrafiltration. A wide part is dedicated to applications with the description of about twenty processes. In addition, the book describes several types of energetic valorizations which concern a quite important fraction of the collected oil volume.* Comprehensive approach of the waste oil valorization* Overview of chemical engineering operations applied to waste oil* Objective view of the given information on a subject giving rise to competitiveness between the two routes of volorization

Book Synopsis Refining Used Lubricating Oils by : James Speight
Download or read book Refining Used Lubricating Oils written by James Speight and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2014-04-07 with total page 460 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Used lubricating oil is a valuable resource. This book examines recycling processes for a range of products with different properties and different criteria. It also compares the various recycling methods and resulting products to conventional products obtained from original refining processes. The reviews, data, and comparisons provided by the authors allow readers to identify which processes are likely to produce a product with specific properties, and enable them to combine this with an analysis of the economic data to identify attractive oil recycling propositions.
Book Synopsis Design Aspects of Used Lubricating Oil Re-Refining by : Firas Awaja
Download or read book Design Aspects of Used Lubricating Oil Re-Refining written by Firas Awaja and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2006-06-06 with total page 123 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Design Aspects of Used Lubricating Oil Re-Refining presents a feasible and comprehensive technology for recycling of used lubricating oils. This book discusses efficient and effective ways of reusing lubricating oil which, if implemented, will result in a better quality of life, the stability of the environment, the health of national economies and better relationships between nations. It presents essential experimental results for process designers and engineers to establish a complete process design. The conditions and behaviour in each step in the re-refining process, (dehydration, solvent extraction, solvent stripping, and vacuum distillation) are examined in order to discover ways to recover and reuse wastes that are produced by lubricating oils.•Addresses and demonstrates the current knowledge of the process behaviour and re-refining technology of used lubricating oils•Introduces background information on the lubrication, oil recycling industry outlining the major manufacturers and detailing their processes•Contains 94 figures and 22 tables that on results regarding the re-refining process behaviour of used lubricating oil

Book Synopsis Asheville Refinery by : Richard Leonard Smith
Download or read book Asheville Refinery written by Richard Leonard Smith and published by . This book was released on 2016-08-29 with total page 26 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Asheville Refinery manufactures oil refining systems that enable the recycling of waste vegetable and motor oils. Our unique design uses no harsh chemicals and only inert natural materials. The Refining process is a simple gravity fed system that requires no power, or chemicals of any type. Use is as simple as filling the feed module with oil, and allowing gravity to flow the dirty oil through the refinery and come out cleaned. While traveling through the refining module, the oil is naturally dewatered, other water based contaminants such as acids & salts are removed and solid contaminants above 9 Microns in size are trapped in the refinery. All of this is done via a single step without the need for heat, electricity or chemicals, producing only clean usable oil.
