It constantly returns to think about times past and upcoming future and then mind creates horrifying illusions Restless mind forms the rust on our skills, it makes us so used to the stillness, that walking towards the future becomes a difficult job Humans are bound to feel anxious Perhaps this is a way to express our fear about whether it is okay for us to have a better life. If we try to hold on so many things both real and imaginary our soul gets trapped inside of us locked in a hell that has no key, we begin to weigh our hearts down and make our minds restless.

At times, we all need someone to talk to or someone to listen to us, but there’s no one around or no one who cares. This book offers you ways to answer your own questions and rely on yourself to make a righteous decision for yourself. This book offers a piece of reality with a spiritual twist and an understanding of how to deal with other people. Random Thoughts will give you the answer to questions in your mind that you want to ask or may be looking for in all the wrong places. It can say the things you feel you can’t say. This book gives the assurance that you’re not alone in this world and that we all go through some of the same obstacles, trials and tribulations in life as others, but we deal with them in many different ways. Its job is to open you up to new ideas and to open your mind to other ways to deal with life’s struggles, and it will help you express how you feel to a loved one when you’re at a loss for words. Random Thoughts is an empowering, uplifting, guiding book, and it teaches how to show love and be loved. Most of all, it shows you how to keep the faith in yourself to live a better and more fruitful life with our God as your guide.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The very things we do to control anxiety can make anxiety worse. This unique guide offers a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)-based approach to help you recognize the constant chatter of your anxious “monkey mind,” stop feeding anxious thoughts, and find the personal peace you crave. Ancient sages compared the human mind to a monkey: constantly chattering, hopping from branch to branch—endlessly moving from fear to safety. If you are one of the millions of people whose life is affected by anxiety, you are familiar with this process. Unfortunately, you can’t switch off the “monkey mind,” but you can stop feeding the monkey—or stop rewarding it by avoiding the things you fear. Written by psychotherapist Jennifer Shannon, this book shows you how to stop anxious thoughts from taking over using proven-effective cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness techniques, as well as fun illustrations. By following the exercises in this book, you’ll learn to identify your own anxious thoughts, question those thoughts, and uncover the core fears at play. Once you stop feeding the monkey, there are no limits to how expansive your life can feel. This book will show you how anxiety can only continue as long as you try to avoid it. And, paradoxically, only by seeking out and confronting the things that make you anxious can you reverse the cycle that keeps your fears alive.

Book excerpt: Excerpts of Preface... The brain is a mysterious thing. It is active all day long. It never stops functioning even during our sleep. It is easily among the most used organ of our body regardless whether we are consciously controlling it at any given moment or not. But what also strikes me about the brain is its seeming randomness of direction, especially when we are not actively directing it. One moment we are thinking of the day's tasks at hand, the next moment it's about that summer 10 years ago when we had a good time with friends and family. One moment I am writing this introduction, and seconds later, I am thinking about that reunion with some college friends to catch up with a few days from now. (No, it's not just attention span deficit syndrome, okay?) This is why it is fascinating to me how our minds work. We are never really in full control of it. Whether we are reading a book, watching a movie, or talking to someone, our mind may wander off without warning to places where we've been, or destinations where we might want to be. To events we'd like to remember, to unfortunate experiences we'd rather forget if not delete from our brain. This collection of random thoughts might feel like that. It has absolutely no order or theme that can tie it all together. Just as the brain may not have a unifying train of thought during long stretches of time. It reads as randomly as the brain frequently works. Some are funny, some may sound sanctimonious, some are reflections, some are sarcastic, some are practical advices, and some are just thoughts not meant to be taken too seriously. Hopefully, however, all are worthwhile reads and that you'll enjoy the ride on the many trains of thoughts inside.

Book excerpt: 'Even in the thickest of mud you can find a beautiful bloom.'Often find yourself lying awake at night, bothered by your thoughts? Or seeking out inspirational quotes that speak to your soul? The Random Ramblings of a Restless Mind first started out as a means for Adam to collect his thoughts in one place; almost like a diary. Adam never intended to add any poetry onto it's pages, however he naturally found himself turning these observations and thoughts into poems, most of which have resulted in becoming what is referred to as 'shorties.'Quickly it became apparent Adam was in fact putting together a poetry collection, mixed with slightly philosophical and day to day observations. This is what makes 'Ramblings' unique. Random Ramblings also introduces Adam's very own poetry metre, titled the Simplex Metre.'You struggle because you think. Don't. Just be.'

Book excerpt: National Book Award Finalist: “This man’s ideas may be the most influential, not to say controversial, of the second half of the twentieth century.”—Columbus Dispatch At the heart of this classic, seminal book is Julian Jaynes's still-controversial thesis that human consciousness did not begin far back in animal evolution but instead is a learned process that came about only three thousand years ago and is still developing. The implications of this revolutionary scientific paradigm extend into virtually every aspect of our psychology, our history and culture, our religion—and indeed our future. “Don’t be put off by the academic title of Julian Jaynes’s The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind. Its prose is always lucid and often lyrical…he unfolds his case with the utmost intellectual rigor.”—The New York Times “When Julian Jaynes . . . speculates that until late in the twentieth millennium BC men had no consciousness but were automatically obeying the voices of the gods, we are astounded but compelled to follow this remarkable thesis.”—John Updike, The New Yorker “He is as startling as Freud was in The Interpretation of Dreams, and Jaynes is equally as adept at forcing a new view of known human behavior.”—American Journal of Psychiatry
