Book excerpt: "Quantum Mythology: How Physics Shapes Our Myths and Legends" explores the intriguing connections between quantum mechanics and ancient myths, suggesting that many legends may have been early interpretations of phenomena now understood through quantum principles, bridging the gap between science and mythology. The driving idea behind the book "Quantum Mythology: How Physics Shapes Our Myths And Legends" is to explore the intricate interplay between mythology and quantum theory. The book aims to demonstrate how ancient wisdom and modern quantum concepts are interconnected, presenting a narrative that intertwines human imagination with the realities of quantum mechanics. By examining phenomena such as wave-particle duality, entanglement, and superposition through the lens of mythology and mysticism, the book seeks to offer a profound understanding of how physics shapes our myths and legends and to reframe our perception of nature and reality. Key Takeaways The concept of quantum mythology integrates ancient myths with quantum mechanics to reveal fundamental truths about existence. Quantum mechanics phenomena such as superposition, entanglement, and wave-particle duality mirror themes found in global mythologies. Ancient myths often depicted cosmic creation, interconnectedness, and non-locality, which resonate with modern quantum theories. The interdisciplinary approach fosters a holistic understanding of reality, blending empirical science with symbolic mythological interpretations. The integration of quantum principles with mythology prompts a reevaluation of time, space, consciousness, and reality itself. This synthesis has practical implications for technology, such as quantum computing and communication, as well as cultural and ethical considerations. Preserving and revitalizing ancient myths through the lens of quantum mechanics can promote cultural appreciation and global unity.

Book excerpt: In the broad tapestry of human knowledge, few disciplines generate the same feeling of surprise and amazement as physics. It is a discipline that unravels the mysteries of the cosmos, uncovering the hidden symphonies that control everything from the smallest subatomic particles to the enormous expanses of galaxies. Yet, beyond its scientific precision, there remains a deeper, even lyrical, connection that many of us feel towards the mysteries of the physical world. "The Quantum Affection: Exploring the Romance of Physics" is an initiative to honor this deep and ongoing love connection between humans and the universe. Through its pages, we go on a trip that transcends numbers and labs, delving into the very core of what it means to be enthralled by the marvels of physics. This book is not a straightforward retelling of scientific facts and beliefs. Instead, it strives to expose the beauty, elegance, and intrinsic romance that reside within the complex fabric of the physical cosmos. We shall visit the pioneers of quantum physics, picture the cosmic ballets of particles, and consider the exciting prospects of other dimensions.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Quantum Orchestra is the gripping story shared by Tony-an ordinary man burdened with an extraordinary task. Doc can't find the right hole in his belt to poke his buckle through, yet his work in quantum physics discovers a connection between the physical and spiritual worlds. Los Alamos Labs knows that gifted individuals sometimes suffer with psychological issues and Doc is no exception. He condemns the Lab: "We are removing the thread from the substrate of matter and undoing the divine fabric of existence," and they are aware of his betrayal. He has a plan and recruits Tony to help stop our plunge into darkness. His abilities impress Tony, but it's hard to separate genius from lunatic. Life intrudes, opens new "doors" and reveals a path for Tony. Quantum Orchestra is a mesmerizing tightrope walk through the dichotomy of reality, swinging side to side from physical to spiritual, humorous to haunting, sophisticated to simple, apocalyptic to hopeful, ... and ends once you say, "Aha." IMPORTANT NOTES FROM A READER The Science: There is plenty of it but THIS IS NOT A SCIENCE BOOK. The science (physics and metaphysics) does not "need" to be corroborated because this is speculative fiction (spirituality, science fiction, adventure, paranormal, political, humor, etc.). BUT, I believe the science is legitimate with a touch of conspiracy theory. The science was cleverly injected. I also don't believe you need to understand it for this book to grab you. The Paranormal: Tony tries to remember his past to write this book and he leaves a type of door open to the "other side" to let his memories return from the ether and ghost like entities-referred to as the homeless-slip in and haunt Tony. Spirits don't follow man's rules of nature (past, present, future). And they don't in this book and that is why their presence throughout is a mystery until the end. Some Advice: Pay attention to the sketches, the final words between Kay and Tony, anything in bold, and you'll find the reward. Read the Look Inside tab to get a feel for the book. Also, the paperback has a very sharp glossy cover and looks great on my bookshelf. I also liked the spacing and the font used in the paperback (I read the Kindle, paperback and all reviews). My Honest Opinion: There are just so many books with nice covers and descriptions that it's hard to find the good ones. This is a GREAT book and I believe it deserves recognition. It has depth with "at least" a dual plot (the main plus paranormal). The plots are craftily tied together at the end. There are no loose ends. It pulls you in and causes reflection. It's AMUSING, (wild adventures-including psychedelic drugs, drinking, a gold hunting fiasco, an Indian burial ground, and more); MOVING, (funny, spooky, sad); MEANINGFUL, (captivating, wise, nostalgic, inspiring). It favors open-minded "thinkers" that know that man hasn't solved all of life's mysteries. It does not favor those with a narrow world view, in fact, it may offend them.

Book excerpt: This novel, part romance, part science fiction, part thriller, is the story of a famous child prodigy in mathematics and music, Dianna Utterson, who, later as a PHD student in biophysics, develops a fool-proof, anti-mutagenic vaccine against AIDS. It's also a story of a jealous medical student's obsession to steal the genetic code and Fourier analysis developed by his lover, Dianna, needed by his future pharmaceutical corporation to manufacture her wonder AIDS drug. The book's most interesting sub-plot is the Jesuit-controlled, Pythagorean secrecy surrounding her cure and its conflict with traditional Vatican theology. With clear allusions to quantum physics, and molecular biology as developed by the American James Watson, and the British Scientists Francis Crick and Rosalind Franklin, this novel is ideal for high school and college-age students, and those readers interested in the magic of bio-medical research in its quest to find cures for mankind's most elusive diseases. It's a lasting work that inspires readers to appreciate science through the uplifting experience of a disarming, beatific heroine, Dianna Utterson. --- Wayne Kappel, Ph.D, recipient of the Distinguished Teacher White House Commission on Presidential Scholars award, 1997

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Does the brain create the mind, or is some external entity involved? In addressing this "hard problem" of consciousness, we face a central human challenge: what do we really know and how do we know it? Tentative answers in this book follow from a synthesis of profound ideas, borrowed from philosophy, religion, politics, economics, neuroscience, physics, mathematics, and cosmology, the knowledge structures supporting our meager grasps of reality. This search for new links in the web of human knowledge extends in many directions: the "shadows" of our thought processes revealed by brain imagining, brains treated as complex adaptive systems that reveal fractal-like behavior in the brain's nested hierarchy, resonant interactions facilitating functional connections in brain tissue, probability and entropy as measures of human ignorance, fundamental limits on human knowledge, and the central role played by information in both brains and physical systems. In Brain, Mind, and the Structure of Reality, Paul Nunez discusses the possibility of deep connections between relativity, quantum mechanics, thermodynamics, and consciousness: all entities involved with fundamental information barriers. Dr. Nunez elaborates on possible new links in this nested web of human knowledge that may tell us something new about the nature and origins of consciousness. In the end, does the brain create the mind? Or is the Mind already out there? You decide.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As groundbreaking synthesis that promises to shift our understanding of the mind-brain connection and its relationship with our bodies. We understand the workings of the human body as a series of interdependent physiological relationships: muscle interacts with bone as the heart responds to hormones secreted by the brain, all the way down to the inner workings of every cell. To make an organism function, no one component can work alone. In light of this, why is it that the accepted understanding that the physical phenomenon of the mind is attributed only to the brain? In The Embodied Mind, internationally renowned psychiatrist Dr. Thomas R. Verny sets out to redefine our concept of the mind and consciousness. He brilliantly compiles new research that points to the mind’s ties to every part of the body. The Embodied Mind collects disparate findings in physiology, genetics, and quantum physics in order to illustrate the mounting evidence that somatic cells, not just neural cells, store memory, inform genetic coding, and adapt to environmental changes—all behaviors that contribute to the mind and consciousness. Cellular memory, Verny shows, is not just an abstraction, but a well-documented scientific fact that will shift our understanding of memory. Verny describes single-celled organisms with no brains demonstrating memory, and points to the remarkable case of a French man who, despite having a brain just a fraction of the typical size, leads a normal life with a family and a job. The Embodied Mind shows how intelligence and consciousness—traits traditionally attributed to the brain alone—also permate our entire being. Bodily cells and tissues use the same molecular mechanisms for memory as our brain, making our mind more fluid and adaptable than we could have ever imaged.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Compelling evidence that life, intelligence, and evolution on Earth were seeded by comets and cosmic intelligence • Explains how life first came from interstellar dust and comets and how later arrivals of cosmic dust and comets spurred evolution • Explores the possibility that universal knowledge may be stored in human DNA and how ancient cultures may have known a way to retrieve this knowledge • Reveals new discoveries about the dimensions of the Great Pyramid of Giza All ancient cultures link humanity’s origins to the heavens. The Egyptians, for example, were adamant that their ancestors came from the stars of Orion and Sirius. Today, however, religion and science assert that life arose spontaneously here on Earth. Did the ancients know our true cosmic origins? Have they left us clues? Expanding on the panspermia theory developed with the celebrated astronomer Sir Fred Hoyle--namely that the building blocks of life were imported to Earth by comets in the distant past--Chandra Wickramasinghe and Robert Bauval explore the latest findings in support of a cosmic origin for humanity. They detail the astrobiological discoveries of organic molecules deep in space, how microbes are incredibly resistant to the harshest conditions of space--enabling the transfer of genes from one star system to another, and the recent recovery of microorganisms from comets still in space. They argue that the universe was “born” and preset with the blueprint of life and that the cosmos must be teeming with lifeforms far older and perhaps far more developed than us. They show how life arrived on our planet in the form of interstellar dust containing alien bacteria approximately 3.8 billion years ago and how later comets, meteoroids, and asteroids brought new bacterial and viral genetic material, which was vital for evolution. Using the latest advances in physics, cosmology, and neuroscience, the authors explore how universal knowledge may be stored in human DNA and cells, and they postulate that ancient cultures, such as the pyramid builders of Egypt and the temple builders of India, may have known a way to retrieve this knowledge. Sharing new discoveries from experienced architects, engineers, and mathematicians, they show how the Great Pyramid is a three-dimensional mathematical equation in stone, bearing a potent message for humanity across time and space about who we are and where we come from.
