Book Synopsis Computer Simulation Using Particles by : R.W Hockney
Download or read book Computer Simulation Using Particles written by R.W Hockney and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-03-24 with total page 566 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Computer simulation of systems has become an important tool in scientific research and engineering design, including the simulation of systems through the motion of their constituent particles. Important examples of this are the motion of stars in galaxies, ions in hot gas plasmas, electrons in semiconductor devices, and atoms in solids and liquids. The behavior of the system is studied by programming into the computer a model of the system and then performing experiments with this model. New scientific insight is obtained by observing such computer experiments, often for controlled conditions that are not accessible in the laboratory. Computer Simulation using Particles deals with the simulation of systems by following the motion of their constituent particles. This book provides an introduction to simulation using particles based on the NGP, CIC, and P3M algorithms and the programming principles that assist with the preparations of large simulation programs based on the OLYMPUS methodology. It also includes case study examples in the fields of astrophysics, plasmas, semiconductors, and ionic solids as well as more detailed mathematical treatment of the models, such as their errors, dispersion, and optimization. This resource will help you understand how engineering design can be assisted by the ability to predict performance using the computer model before embarking on costly and time-consuming manufacture.
Download or read book Economic Keystones written by Raz Kletter and published by A&C Black. This book was released on 1998-09-01 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a full picture of the weight system of Iron Age Judah, based on archaeological finds, historical sources and biblical texts. This book offers a complete picture of the weight system of Iron Age Judah, involving a careful study of the typology, date, context, weight standards, inscription and function of hundreds of weights (with a full catalogue). As against the common view, the author suggests that all the weights belong to one system based on one basic sheqel standard. The weights are mostly not 'royal weights' and have nothing to do with Josiah's reform. The 'sheqel of the sanctuary' was never used in practice in First-Temple Judah. The study leads to new insights about the relation of the Judaean system to other weight systems, as well as about international trade and the economy of the Kingdom of Judah.
Download or read book Atoms in Astrophysics written by P. Burke and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-07 with total page 367 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is hard to appreciate but nevertheless true that Michael John Seaton, known internationally for the enthusiasm and skill with which he pursues his research in atomic physics and astrophysics, will be sixty years old on the 16th of January 1983. To mark this occasion some of his colleagues and former students have prepared this volume. It contains articles that de scribe some of the topics that have attracted his attention since he first started his research work at University College London so many years ago. Seaton's association with University College London has now stretched over a period of some 37 years, first as an undergraduate student, then as a research student, and then, successively, as Assistant Lecturer, Lecturer, Reader, and Professor. Seaton arrived at University College London in 1946 to become an undergraduate in the Physics Department, having just left the Royal Air Force in which he had served as a navigator in the Pathfinder Force of Bomber Command. There are a number of stories of how his skill with instruments and the precision of his calcula tions, later to be so evident in his research, saved his crew from enemy action, and on one occasion, on a flight through the Alps, from a collision with Mount Blanc that at the time was shrouded in clouds.
Book Synopsis Stochastics, Control and Robotics by : Harish Parthasarathy
Download or read book Stochastics, Control and Robotics written by Harish Parthasarathy and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-06-23 with total page 491 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book discusses various problems in stochastic Processes, Control Theory, Electromagnetics, Classical and Quantum Field Theory & Quantum Stochastics. The problems are chosen to motivate the interested reader to learn more about these subjects from other standard sources. Stochastic Process theory is applied to the study of differential equations of mechanics subject to external noise. Some issues in general relativity like Geodesic motion, field theory in curved space time etc. are discussed via isolated problems. The more recent quantum stochastic process theory as formulated by R.L. Hudson and K. R. Parathasarathy is discussed. This provides a non commutative operator theoretic version of stochastic process theory. V.P. Belavkin's approach to quantum filtering based on non demolition measurements and Hudson Parathasarathy calculus has been discussed in detail. Quantum versions of the simple exclusion model in Markov process theory have been included. 3D Robots carring a current density interacting with an external Klein- Gordon or Electromagnetic field has been given some attention. The readers will after going through this book, be ready to carry out independent research in classical and quantum field theory and stochastic processes as applied to practical problems.
