Blackboard is where I teach. Founded to transform the Internet into a powerful environment for teaching and learning, Blackboard traces its technology roots to Cornell University. Today, thousands of institutions in 140 countries deliver e-Education services through Blackboard's suite of enterprise systems. If you put up a course at Blackboard.com on the Web or for any similar type of teaching area on the Web, you can teach online independently without anyone hiring you as a teacher. You are an independent consultant, a trainer, an independent contractor, or you can start your own school or one course online and teach. This book is about using your personal computer and your camcorder linked together to teach online from your home any subject you are able to teach, have expertise in, or enjoy researching. This can be a hobby, what you have studied and are credentialed or licensed, or any how-to subject. You can teach writing, using a camcorder, public speaking, or any technology that you have worked with and have expert knowledge of in a home-based online office.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For at least half of the twentieth century, psychology and the other mental health professions all but ignored the significant adaptive pos sibilities of the human gift of imagery. Our capacity seemingly to duplicate sights, sounds, and other sensory experiences through some form of central brain process continues to remain a mysterious, alma st miraculous skill. Because imagery is so much a private experience, experimental psychologists found it hard to measure and turned their attentian to observable behaviors that could easily be studied in ani maIs as well as in humans. Psychoanalysts and others working with the emotionally disturbed continued to take imagery informatian se riously in the form of dream reports, transferenee fantasies, and as indications of hallucinations or delusions. On the whole, however, they emphasized the maladaptive aspects of the phenomena, the dis tortions and defensiveness or the "regressive" qualities of daydreams and sequences of images. The present volume grows out of a long series of investigations by the senior author that have suggested that daydreaming and the stream of consciousness are not simply manifestations in adult life of persist ing phenomena of childhood. Rather, the data suggest that imagery sequences represent a major system of encoding and transforming information, a basic human capacity that is inevitably part of the brain's storage process and one that has enormous potential for adap tive utility. A companian volume, The Stream of Consciousness, edited by Kenneth S. Pope and Jerome L.

What Will You Write? If you ever thought that you don't know what to write, you will now. And you will be able to research, write, revise, and sell to well-paying markets with these projects. Create Your Own Internships and Externships in Professional Writing: Projects to Do. Pick subjects for term papers, special studies or independent study courses, or commercial, high-paying book projects. Write salable magazine articles. Freelance or create your own job or project. Create Your Own Internships and Externships in Professional Writing with these Projects to Do for Writers, Organizers, Researchers, Writing Students and Teachers from Middle School to Graduate Schools of Journalism, Creative Writing, New Media Studies and Communications, for MFA and PhD projects in Creative Fiction Writing, Journalism, Playwriting, Scriptwriting, and Creative Nonfiction. Familiarity sells in fiction. Give 'em the familiar because it sells big. Don't given 'em Crystal Pepsi when they expect classic Coca Cola to be brown. In other words, the same Cinderella or Cinderfella story sells in ancient China or Egypt as it did in Europe in 1900 as it does today in Internet romances or virtual worlds avatars. So two points, 1) familiarity and 2) universal values always make best sellers in sagas, novels, multimedia books, and scripts or games.
