Download or read book God's Poiema written by Roberta L. Young and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2011-09-20 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You think what you feel; you say what you think. Words are nothing less than expressions of the heart i.e.,..."out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." Matthew 12:34. My poetry has its origin from my heart-what I feel (and know), what I have experienced from an intimate relationship with the lover of my soul, Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:10 says, "We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." In this verse, the word "workmanship" comes from the Greek root word "poiema" (pronounced poi' a ma), a thing that is made; created; a workmanship, and where we get our word poem. Each one of us has been given gifts, talents, and abilities that enable us to do the "good works" that God "hath before ordained", or planned for us to do "that we should walk in them". We are the ryhthm, the meter of His heartbeat. It is my prayer you will find encouragement, hope, peace, and joy while reading this book of poetry, for I am His workmanship, His poem.
Book Synopsis The Adventures of Eovaai by : Eliza Haywood
Download or read book The Adventures of Eovaai written by Eliza Haywood and published by Broadview Press. This book was released on 1999-02-26 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Haywood's novel is the story of the beautiful Princess Eovaai. Groomed for the throne by her father, who teaches her Lockean notions of liberty, she is overthrown, enmeshed in civil war, and then magically transported to a foreign land by an evil man. Part magician, part politician, he plots to marry her for political reasons. The fascinating reflexive structure of The Adventures of Eovaai incorporates argumentative intrusions (by the Translator, an Historian, etc.), interweaves political and amatory storylines, and blends a wild mix of genres.

Comparable to a day-by-day devotional, Pavilion is a broad-in-scope Biblical analysis of the Lord’s provision of protecting His Saints. The work digs deeply into just exactly what is meant by His grace, power and righteousness, as well as our strength, joy, freedom, comfort, and the varied ways in which He protects His own, etc. — too numerous to mention here. Peek inside and experience the teaching using the Biblical rank-and-file and God’s hand of guidance sheltering His own. The Scriptures colorfully bring to light the situations of life and illuminate the reader’s need to understand God’s ways in this arena.

Download or read book John Locke written by John Marshall and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1994-08-11 with total page 514 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a contextual account of the development of John Locke's political, religious, social and moral thought. It analyses many of Locke's unpublished manuscripts and relatively neglected works as well as the Two Treatises, the Letter Concerning Toleration and the Essay Concerning Human Understanding. Professor Marshall studies the development of Locke's political thought from absolutism to resistance, and provides significant revisions to current explanations of the immediate contexts and purposes of composition of the Two Treatises. He also sets out major accounts of Locke's moral, social and religious thought both as extremely important subjects in their own right and in order to challenge many scholars' interpretations of their influences on Locke's political thought.
Book Synopsis Slouching towards Gaytheism by : W. C. Harris
Download or read book Slouching towards Gaytheism written by W. C. Harris and published by State University of New York Press. This book was released on 2014-02-19 with total page 279 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Slouching towards Gaytheism brings together two intellectual traditions—the New Atheism and queer theory—and moves beyond them to offer a new voice for gay Americans and atheists alike. Examining the continued vehemence of homophobia in cultural and political debate regarding queer equality, this unabashed polemic insists that the needs met by religion might be met—more safely and less toxically—by forms of community that do not harass and malign gay and lesbian Americans or impede collective social progress. W. C. Harris argues that compromises with traditional religion, no matter how enlightened or well intentioned, will ultimately leave heteronormativity alive and well. He explores a range of recent movements, such as Dan Savage's "It Gets Better" project, reparative "ex-gay" therapy, Christian purity culture, and attempts by liberal Christians to reconcile religion with homosexuality, and shows how these proposed solutions are either inadequate or positively dangerous. According to the author, the time has come for "gaytheism": leaving religion behind in order to preserve queer dignity, rights, and lives.

Book Synopsis Protect the Harvest; Defend the Harvester by : Brill Pongo
Download or read book Protect the Harvest; Defend the Harvester written by Brill Pongo and published by Paragon Publishing. This book was released on 2016-09-16 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Protect the Harvest; Defend the Harvester talks about the conversion of a journalist who was very much against the rise of the modern day church, particularly the prophetic movement and the so-called prosperity gospel preachers. In his attempt to discredit the preachers, the journalist has a heavenly encounter which transforms his views and alters his spiritual course. At a later stage, while the journalist is travelling to DR Congo from Zambia, God shows him a vision and speaks to him about the need to ‘Protect the Harvest, protect the granary and defend the harvester(s)’. An interesting encounter and valuable reading as he outlines how the Media in today’s world is conspiring to discredit the church and soil the characters of the servants of God. He talks of how the church is under attack from the enemy within and without; he likens the gossiper inside church to weevils. A fascinating read. “A powerful and exhilarating testimony of an amazing encounter with God.” Pastor Rikki Doolan – Superintendent (Osborn Institute of Theology) www.osbourninstitute.com “An amazing testimony accompanied by very powerful teaching. The world needs this at this very moment.” Apostle Max Matonhodze www.planetministries.org.uk “A captivating testimony that carries you through a journey and teaches you the deep things about visions. Brilliant Pongo has demonstrated an amazing way of teaching and testifying. Indeed this book is testament to that. It is a great read.” The Financial Gazette www.fingaz.co.zw
