Book Synopsis Processing for Maximum Signal-to-clutter in AMTI Radars by : William Bernard Goggins
Download or read book Processing for Maximum Signal-to-clutter in AMTI Radars written by William Bernard Goggins and published by . This book was released on 1974 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Phased array antennas and doppler signal processors designed to complement each other have been successfully used to maximize the signal-to-clutter (S/C) performance of AMTI radars. The optimum receiving antennas described in this paper allow for nonuniformities created in the ground-clutter doppler spectrum by the transmitting antenna and processing of the received doppler signal; the optimum signal-to-clutter digital processors allow for clutter spectra shaped by the combined effects of the transmitting-receiving antennas. The emphasis has been placed on producing antenna-processor designs that have complementary pass and reject bands. The mathematical techniques used in these designs maximize the ratio between the target signal and the clutter-plus-noise, expressed as a ratio of quadratic forms. The solution for the optimum design, which depends principally on the inversion of a single matrix rather than on any recursive technique, is obtained in closed form.

Book Synopsis Modern Radar Systems by : Hamish Meikle
Download or read book Modern Radar Systems written by Hamish Meikle and published by Artech House. This book was released on 2001 with total page 630 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This one-of-a-kind book features 536 illustrations (drawn in Maple V) that offer a greater understanding of various waveforms, and other two- and three-dimensional functions, to help you more accurately analyze radar system performance. The effects of pulse shaping on transmitter stability and spectra are discussed ? a topic which is becoming more and more important in the age of electromagnetic compatibility. The book addresses the importance of low attenuation and reflection between the main radio frequency blocks, including the use of oversized waveguides for long runs.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In answer to great demand, Artech House is proud to bring professionals a newly revised and updated edition of the bestselling book Introduction to Modern EW Systems. The Second Edition has been greatly expanded to include a wealth of new material, from remote piloted airborne systems, directed energy weapons, and non-cooperative air surveillance...to EW radar band sensor next generation architectures, real-time data links, and smart jamming. This authoritative resource provides engineers and students with the latest electronic warfare (EW) techniques and technologies related to on-board military platforms. Practitioners gain expert design guidance on technologies and equipment used to detect and identify emitter threats, offering an advantage in the never-ending chess game between sensor guided weapons and EW systems. This unique book provides deeper insight into EW systems principles of operation and their mathematical descriptions, arming professionals with better knowledge for their specific design applications. Moreover, readers get practical information on how to counter modern communications data links which provide connectivity and command flow among the armed forces in the battlefield. Taking a sufficiently broad perspective, this comprehensive volume offers a panoramic view of the various physical domains RF, Infrared, and electronics that are present in modern electronic warfare systems. This in-depth book is supported with over 340 illustrations and more than 450 equations.
Book Synopsis Space-Time Adaptive Processing for Radar, Second Edition by : J.R. Guerci
Download or read book Space-Time Adaptive Processing for Radar, Second Edition written by J.R. Guerci and published by Artech House. This book was released on 2014-11-01 with total page 299 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Space-time adaptive processing (STAP) is an exciting technology for advanced radar systems that allows for significant performance enhancements over conventional approaches. Based on a time-tested course taught in industry, government and academia, this second edition reviews basic STAP concepts and methods, placing emphasis on implementation in real-world systems. It addresses the needs of radar engineers who are seeking to apply effective STAP techniques to their systems, and serves as an excellent reference for non-radar specialists with an interest in the signal processing applications of STAP. Engineers find the analysis tools they need to assess the impact of STAP on a variety of important radar applications. A toolkit of STAP algorithms and implementation techniques allows practitioners the flexibility of adapting the best methods to their application. In addition, this second edition adds brand new coverage on “STAP on Transmit” and “Knowledge-Aided STAP (KA-STAP).
