Book Synopsis Process–Structure–Properties in Polymer Additive Manufacturing by : Swee Leong Sing
Download or read book Process–Structure–Properties in Polymer Additive Manufacturing written by Swee Leong Sing and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2021-09-01 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Additive manufacturing (AM) methods have grown and evolved rapidly in recent years. AM for polymers is an exciting field and has great potential in transformative and translational research in many fields, such as biomedical, aerospace, and even electronics. Current methods for polymer AM include material extrusion, material jetting, vat polymerisation, and powder bed fusion. With the promise of more applications, detailed understanding of AM—from the processability of the feedstock to the relationship between the process–structure–properties of AM parts—has become more critical. More research work is needed in material development to widen the choice of materials for polymer additive manufacturing. Modelling and simulations of the process will allow the prediction of microstructures and mechanical properties of the fabricated parts while complementing the understanding of the physical phenomena that occurs during the AM processes. In this book, state-of-the-art reviews and current research are collated, which focus on the process–structure–properties relationships in polymer additive manufacturing.
Book Synopsis Electroceramic-Based MEMS by : Nava Setter
Download or read book Electroceramic-Based MEMS written by Nava Setter and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-03-30 with total page 416 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book is focused on the use of functional oxide and nitride films to enlarge the application range of MEMS (microelectromechanical systems), including micro-sensors, micro-actuators, transducers, and electronic components for microwaves and optical communications systems. Applications, emerging applications, fabrication technology and functioning issues are presented and discussed. The book covers the following topics: Part A: Applications and devices with electroceramic-based MEMS: Chemical microsensors Microactuators based on thin films Micromachined ultrasonic transducers Thick-film piezoelectric and magnetostrictive devices Pyroelectric microsystems RF bulk acoustic wave resonators and filters High frequency tunable devices MEMS for optical functionality Part B: Materials, fabrication technology, and functionality: Ceramic thick films for MEMS Piezoelectric thin films for MEMS Materials and technology in thin films for tunable high frequency devices Permittivity, tunability and loss in ferroelectrics for reconfigurable high frequency electronics Microfabrication of piezoelectric MEMS Nano patterning methods for electroceramics Soft lithography emerging techniques The book is addressed to engineers, scientists and researchers of various disciplines, device engineers, materials engineers, chemists, physicists and microtechnologists who are working and/or interested in this fast growing and highly promising field. The publication of this book follows a Special Issue on electroceramic-based MEMS that was published in the Journal of Electroceramics at the beginning of 2004. The ten invited papers of that special issue were adapted by the authors into chapters of the present book and five additional chapters were added.

Book Synopsis Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Nanomaterials by : Susheel Kalia
Download or read book Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Nanomaterials written by Susheel Kalia and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-12-04 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advances in Polymer Science enjoys a longstanding tradition and good reputation in its community. Each volume is dedicated to a current topic, and each review critically surveys one aspect of that topic, to place it within the context of the volume. The volumes typically summarize the significant developments of the last 5 to 10 years and discuss them critically, presenting selected examples, explaining and illustrating the important principles, and bringing together many important references of primary literature. On that basis, future research directions in the area can be discussed. Advances in Polymer Science volumes thus are important references for every polymer scientist, as well as for other scientists interested in polymer science - as an introduction to a neighboring field, or as a compilation of detailed information for the specialist.
Book Synopsis Large Area and Flexible Electronics by : Mario Caironi

Book Synopsis Electrical Power Cable Engineering by : William A. Thue
Download or read book Electrical Power Cable Engineering written by William A. Thue and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2003-06-20 with total page 394 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electrical Power Cable Engineering, Second Edition remains the foremost reference on low- and medium-voltage electrical power cables, cataloging technical characteristics and assuring success for cable manufacture, installation, operation, and maintenance. While segments on electrical cable insulation and field assessment have been revamped to reflect industry transformations, new chapters tackle distinctive topics like the location of underground system faults and the thermal resistivity of concrete, proving that this expanded edition lays a sound foundation for engineering decisions. It deconstructs the external variables affecting conductor, insulation, and shielding design.
