Two or three times as many exercises are furnished as any one student will be able to complete in the time usually allotted; thus different students may be assigned different preparations. The notes for each exercise are divided into three parts: I. A discussion of the object of the exercise, with an out line of the principle of the method and the reasons for the steps involved. II.
