Book Synopsis Mathematical Methods for Physics by : Farkhad G. Aliev
Download or read book Mathematical Methods for Physics written by Farkhad G. Aliev and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2023-08-31 with total page 538 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents mathematical tools to solve partial differential equations, typical of physical problems. It explains in a detailed manner the process of solving the problems that typically arise in the context of physics. Although there are a large number of textbooks on this topic, few go so deep into the topic. One of the original and unique features of this book is emphasis on the mathematical formulation of the problems, as well as the analysis of several alternative ways to solve them. Importantly, the book provides a graphical analysis of the results when appropriate. It describes a wide scope of the problems, with detailed solutions and the methods involved, ranging from cases in one to three dimensions, from Cartesian to polar, cylindrical, and spherical coordinates and includes properties and applications of the Fourier transform to solve partial differential equations.
Book Synopsis The History of Physics in Cuba by : Angelo Baracca
Download or read book The History of Physics in Cuba written by Angelo Baracca and published by Springer Science & Business. This book was released on 2014-04-22 with total page 453 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book brings together a broad spectrum of authors, both from inside and from outside Cuba, who describe the development of Cuba's scientific system from the colonial period to the present. It is a unique documentation of the self-organizing power of a local scientific community engaged in scientific research on an international level. The first part includes several contributions that reconstruct the different stages of the history of physics in Cuba, from its beginnings in the late colonial era to the present. The second part comprises testimonies of Cuban physicists, who offer lively insights from the perspective of the actors themselves. The third part presents a series of testimonies by foreign physicists, some of whom were directly involved in developing Cuban physics, in particular in the development of teaching and research activities in the early years of the Escuela de Física. The fourth part of the volume deals with some of the issues surrounding the publishing of scientific research in Cuba. Cuba’s recent history and current situation are very controversial issues. Little is known about the development and status of higher education and scientific research on the island. However, Cuba has one of the highest proportions in the world of people with a university degree or doctorate and is known for its highly developed medical system. This book focuses on a comprehensive overview of the history of the development of one specific scientific discipline: physics in Cuba. It traces the evolution of an advanced research system in a developing country and shows a striking capacity to link the development of modern research with the concrete needs of the country and its population. A little known aspect is the active participation of several “western” physicists and technicians during the 1960s, the role of summer schools, organized by French, Italian, and other western physicists, as well as the active collaboration with European universities.

Book Synopsis Differential Equations and Boundary Value Problems by : Charles Henry Edwards
Download or read book Differential Equations and Boundary Value Problems written by Charles Henry Edwards and published by Pearson Educación. This book was released on 2000 with total page 816 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For introductory courses in Differential Equations. This text provides the conceptual development and geometric visualization of a modern differential equations course while maintaining the solid foundation of algebraic techniques that are still essential to science and engineering students. It reflects the new excitement in differential equations as the availability of technical computing environments likeMaple, Mathematica, and MATLAB reshape the role and applications of the discipline. New technology has motivated a shift in emphasis from traditional, manual methods to both qualitative and computer-based methods that render accessible a wider range of realistic applications. With this in mind, the text augments core skills with conceptual perspectives that students will need for the effective use of differential equations in their subsequent work and study.

Book Synopsis Noise in Spintronics by : Farkhad Aliev
Download or read book Noise in Spintronics written by Farkhad Aliev and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-09-04 with total page 227 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book covers the main physical mechanisms and the different contributions (1/f noise, shot noise, etc.) behind electronic fluctuations in various spintronic devices. It presents the first comprehensive summary of fundamental noise mechanisms in both electronic and spintronic devices and is therefore unique in that aspect. The pedagogic introduction to noise is complemented by a detailed description of how one could set up a noise measurement experiment in the lab. A further extensive description of the recent progress in understanding and controlling noise in spintronics, including the boom in 2D devices, molecular spintronics, and field sensing, is accompanied by both numerous bibliography references and tens of case studies on the fundamental aspects of noise and on some important qualitative steps to understand noise in spintronics. Moreover, a detailed discussion of unsolved problems and outlook make it an essential textbook for scientists and students desiring to exploit the information hidden in noise in both spintronics and conventional electronics.
