There are many books that contain seemingly powerful arguments for biblical creation. But is there an ultimate proof of creation? There is an argument for creation that is powerful, conclusive, and has no true rebuttal. As such, it is an irrefutable argument - an "ultimate proof " of the Christian worldview biblical creation. Master the method outlined in the following chapters, and you will be able to defend Christianity against all opposition. Learn how to apply the ultimate proof in dialogues with evolutionists, how to spot logical fallacies, and biblical examples of defending the faith Discover the nature of scientific evidence and its proper role in the origins debate Details how to address theistic evolution, "day age" creationism, and other compromised positions of biblical creationism An exceptional book for pastors, ministry leaders, seminary attendees, and students of religion and philosophy This book is a complete guide to defending the Christian faith, emphasizing the defense of the Genesis account of creation, built on techniques that have been developed over many years and presentations. They are not difficult to apply when you learn how to do it properly. Ready to move beyond the circular arguments? It is time to get to the real heart of the issue and rationally resolve the origins debate. It is time to discover The Ultimate Proof of Creation.

Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Problem of Creation: An Attempt to Define the Character and Trend of the Cosmic ProcessBy way of preface, I would draw attention to the limits I have imposed on myself in this attempt to grapple with the Problem of Creation, and to arrive at conclusions which may help to solve it.My argument is chiefly based on the postulate ex nihilo nihil - a postulate accepted by common sense, by science, and by most philosophy. (To certain thinkers who deny it I devote some special sections.) I take, as a master-key to the working of the cosmic process, the main principles brought to light by the evolution hypothesis - principles now accepted, not only by the vast majority of scientists and philosophers, but even by representative teachers of the Roman Catholic Church.Having vindicated these premisses, I ask what are the implications of the facts of experience when these are taken as directly as possible and in their entirety; and I contend that, if we are to be loyal to ex nihilo nihil, we must find for them an ultimate Ground which shall be at least adequate to them, however much it may transcend them; and that to this extent, at any rate, the Ground is not an Unknown or an Unconditioned. All Being and Becoming that fall within our experience must have in the Ground their Sufficient Reason, and therefore be a manifestation of the Nature of that Ground.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this volume is to define the character and trend of the cosmic process. The argument is based on the familiar postulate ex nihilo nihil, now generally accepted by science and philosophy, confirmed as it has been by the evolutionary hypothesis. The contention for an ultimate ground which is both known and conditioned recalls the system of personalism so thoroughly worked out by Borden P. Bowne. Dr. Mercer makes a comprehensive examination of the historical and current cosmological theories and concludes that the world ground is conscious, purposeful, rational will. What, then, is the end of the cosmic process, which is also a creative process and controlled by a Personal Source? It is "the evolution of persons who are to find fullness of life in and through membership of a perfect society." This thought is suggestively applied to the Church as a spiritual organism, whose world mission is to point the way and to place humanity in close communion with the divine Source of life through the Incarnate Christ. The categories of time and space are interpreted as having both a subjective and objective reality. Causality is regarded as both phenomenal and efficient and materialism has failed and become discredited because it has evaded this distinction and obscured the creative process under figures of speech. The age-long problem of fate and freedom, of law and liberty is also discussed from the standpoint of a dynamic cosmos, which provides for the unity of the conscious and free self. This able discussion thus concludes: "God is the uncreated, self-existing Ground of all that Becomes. And since He is eternal, so is that creative activity which pours around Him objects of His love. Inimitable in its brevity, its pregnancy, its comprehensiveness is that apostolic utterance which we have already found to contain the heart and secret of cosmology: "In him, and through him, and to him are all things." - The Christian Advocate, Vol. 95

Pastor and theologian Gavin Ortlund retrieves Augustine's reading of Genesis 1-3 and considers how his premodern understanding of creation can help Christians today, shedding light on matters such as evolution, animal death, and the historical Adam and Eve.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Creation and the Sovereignty of God brings fresh insight to a defense of God. Traditional theistic belief declared a perfect being who creates and sustains everything and who exercises sovereignty over all. Lately, this idea has been contested, but Hugh J. McCann maintains that God creates the best possible universe and is completely free to do so; that God is responsible for human actions, yet humans also have free will; and ultimately, that divine command must be reconciled with natural law. With this distinctive approach to understanding God and the universe, McCann brings new perspective to the evidential argument from evil.

Book excerpt: "The emotionally charged debate pitting creationism against evolution has been swirling since the publication of Charles Darwin's Origins of Species in 1859. The primary locus of controversy in the United States has been the courts, which have stepped in repeatedly to rule on the constitutionality of laws and policies regarding how each may be taught in the public schools. This fully updated anthology will inform readers about the history of the debate and bring philosophical clarity to the complex arguments on both sides."--BOOK JACKET.

Book excerpt: With the explosion of the Intelligent Design movement, many Americans are once again forced to take sides in the long-standing battle between creation and evolution. Yet many feel inadequately educated on the judicial process of this battle. In Creation and the Courts, Norman Geisler offers a behind-the-scenes look at the testimonies and arguments of the prosecution and defense of the major creation versus evolution court battles. Geisler offers a compelling look at the erosion of Christian influence in America's public schools. Creation and the Courts encourages readers to learn from the past judicial fights and to take their rightful places in the battle. These conflicts in today's classrooms and courtrooms must continue to be fought, and anyone willing to be a soldier must be equipped with the knowledge found in this book.

Book excerpt: Apologetics, the rational defense of the Christian faith in a public context, using the language of philosophy, is traditionally associated with either Roman Catholic theology or Evangelicalism. The contributors to this book seek to (re-)claim Christian apologetics in an Anglican Catholic context. The book originated in a number of successful Apologetics summer schools at St Stephen's College Oxford which generated interest in the rediscovery of apologetics in the context of today's Church. A star cast of authors from a variety of backgrounds offer constructive reflections on subjects such as what is Apologetics?; common objections to the Christian Faith; atheism; apologetics and contemporary culture and apologetics in the parish. Contributors include: Graham Ward (Manchester, Alister McGrath (King's College London), Alison Milbank (Nottingham) and Robin Ward (Oxford).

Reading this book, one wonders if the evangelical movement has pandered so much to American culture and tried to be so popular only to lose not only it's mind but it's soul as well. For evangelical pastors and parishoners alike, this is a must read! --Robert Wuthnow.
