Book Synopsis Pressing on to No Avail by : R. L. Swarts
Download or read book Pressing on to No Avail written by R. L. Swarts and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2011-08 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the first installment known as "My Personal Journal" complete and considered as an exercise tool based on finding council within the art of writing. R.L. Swarts has decided to continue the experiment with respect to the initial concept. That of course being an attempt to find resolution and peace of mind with the help of poetry. The new book, "Pressing On To No Avail" is the continuation of the fictional journal format. This time around even though the intention is the same, the writing has in fact matured with the hope that the reader has too. Mr. Swarts has taken certain freedoms to explore deeper concepts and perspectives. As indicated in the first book, without any formal training as a poet, the style of prose expressed in the text here has again tried to push the limits of expression. Atmosphere and emotion are the focus, space and feeling are described delicately within the metaphoric sentences. Stories that desperately want to be revealed and moments that deserve interpretation weave their way with a subtly yet poignant rhythm. R.L. Swarts has collected one hundred poems and developed ten images that make up the second attempt at expressing a creative exaggeration of life and it's reality. The combined processes of taking black and white photographs with a Polaroid land camera, then implementing found images/text to achieve a meshing of visual narrative best describes the pictures you'll find in the book. Similar to a photograph, these poems are a simulation of our day to day journey of self discovery and awareness. This book of poetry is developed in a non-subjective void and placed down as a means of reaching out to those who search for ways to get out what they feel, but perhaps have trouble finding the words to do so.

Book Synopsis Progress in Scale Modeling by : Kozo Saito
Download or read book Progress in Scale Modeling written by Kozo Saito and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-08-20 with total page 529 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scale modeling can play an important role in R&D. When engineers receive some ideas in new product development, they can test how the new design looks by bui- ing scale models and they can get an actual feeling with the prototype through their imagination. Professor Emori often said: “When children play with a toy airplane, their mind is wondering about the prototype airplane which they haven’t ridden. ” Children can use the scale model airplane as a means to enter into an imagi- tive world of wonder by testing in their own way how the actual airplane might function, how the actual airplane can maneuver aerodynamically, what might be the actual sound of a jet engine, how to safely land the actual airplane, and so on. This imagination that scale models can provide for children will help them later develop professional intuition. Physical scale models can never be entirely succe- fully replaced by computer screens where virtual models are displayed and fancy functions are demonstrated. Not only children but also adults can learn things by actually touching things only offered by physical models, helping all of us develop imagination and feeling eventually leading toward Kufu. Einstein’s famous “thought experiments [11],” which helped him to restructure modern physics may possibly and effectively be taught by letting researchers play with scale models!? References 1. I.
