This book was released on 1987 with total page 17 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Samples of cubic zirconium oxide contained 2.5at% - 40af% ferric iron were prepared by codecomposition of the nitrates. X-ray powder diffraction analysis and magnetic measurements indicated that alpha iron nitrate and ZRO2 form a solid solution up to 25at% Fe/Zr in the product. At this point, the solubility limit of alpha-Fe2O3 in ZrO2 is exceeded. The reduction of cubic zirconia samples containing 2.5at% - 20at% Fe(III) leads to the stabilization of iron (II) in the zirconia lattice. Reduction to metallic iron occurs at much higher temperatures than the reduction of bulk alpha-Fe2O3. (Reprints).

Book Synopsis Advances in Renewable Hydrogen and Other Sustainable Energy Carriers by : Abdallah Khellaf
Download or read book Advances in Renewable Hydrogen and Other Sustainable Energy Carriers written by Abdallah Khellaf and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-08-19 with total page 517 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines a broad range of advances in hydrogen energy and alternative fuel developments and their role in the energy transition. The respective contributions were presented at the International Symposium on Sustainable Hydrogen, held in Algiers, Algeria on November 27-28, 2019. The transition from non-renewable polluting energy to sustainable green energy requires not only new energy sources but also new storage techniques and smart energy management. This situation has sparked renewed interest in hydrogen and alternative fuels, as they could help meet these needs. Indeed, hydrogen can not only be used as a clean energy vector or as an alternative fuel, but also as a storage medium or as an intermediary that enables improved energy management. This text offers a valuable reference guide for those working in the professional energy sector, as well as for students and instructors in academia who want to learn about the state of the art and future directions in the fields of hydrogen energy, alternative fuels and sustainable energy development.

Book Synopsis Preparation and Properties of Cubic ZrO2 Stabilized with Ni(II). by : K. E. Smith
Download or read book Preparation and Properties of Cubic ZrO2 Stabilized with Ni(II). written by K. E. Smith and published by . This book was released on 1987 with total page 10 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Fischer-Tropsch activity of the nickel-zirconia system has been investigated and preparations of the catalyst involving coprecipitation gave a significantly more active catalyst than did preparations involving impregnation. Stabilization towards reduction has been observed when certain transition metal ions such as Rh(III) are inserted into the fluorite ZrO2 structure. Recent investigations using the NiO/ZrO2 system have concluded that NiO does not interact with zirconium oxide, but the materials were prepared by incipient wetness. It was the purpose of this study to investigate the formation of cubic ZrO2 stabilized with Ni(II) and to relate the structural properties of the catalyst with its observed stability in reducing atmospheres. These properties were then compared to those of catalysts prepared by incipient wetness. Changes in the structure of ZrO and in the temperatures at which reduction of Ni(II) to Ni metal occurred were then related to the relative strengths of the catalyst-support interaction.
Book Synopsis Preparation and Characterization of Co(II)/ZrO2 Solid Solution by : Ping Wu
Download or read book Preparation and Characterization of Co(II)/ZrO2 Solid Solution written by Ping Wu and published by . This book was released on 1987 with total page 10 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Samples of cubic zirconium oxide containing up to almost 10 atomic percent cobalt were prepared by codecomposition of the nitrate. Magnetic susceptibility measurements confirmed the limit of solubility and the presence of the cobalt as Co(II). The reduction of the cobalt inserted in cubic zirconia took place at a considerably higher temperature than bulk cobalt oxide. Cubic Zro2 samples containing some transition metal oxides including rhodium oxide (1), iron oxide (2), chromium oxide (3) and nickel oxide (4) were studied previously in this laboratory. Their structures, magnetic properties and the stabilities towards reduction have been studied. Zro2 is characteristic of an absence of reaction between the ZrO2 support and the catalyst. It is the purpose of this work to investigate the formation of solid solution between ZrO2 and cobalt oxide and to study the magnetic properties of such a system. In addition, the stability towards reduction of cubic Zro2 samples containing various concentrations of reacted cobalt oxide will be determined.

Book Synopsis Preparation and Characterization of ZrO2 Stabilized with Ru(IV) and La(III). by : Y-C. Long
Download or read book Preparation and Characterization of ZrO2 Stabilized with Ru(IV) and La(III). written by Y-C. Long and published by . This book was released on 1988 with total page 9 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ruthenium oxide, dispersed on oxide supports such as TiO2, SiO2, and ZrO2, are known to shown Fischer-Tropsch activity. Little is known about the catalyst-support interactions which must play an important role in the catalytic activity of dispersed ruthenium oxide. The strength of catalytic support interaction may be directly related to the stability of the dispersed catalyst towards reduction. Hence, solid solutions of Ru(IV)/ZrO2 have been prepared, and the resulting stability of Ru(IV) toward reduction with hydrogen was measured and compared with that of bulk RuO2. The observed increase in stability toward reduction was related to interaction between RuO2 and ZrO2. The introduction of a small amount of La2O3 with the ZrO2 produced further stabilization of the Ru(IV) toward reduction.

Book Synopsis Stabilization of Cubic ZrO2 with Rh(III) And/or La(III). by : Y-C. Zhang
Download or read book Stabilization of Cubic ZrO2 with Rh(III) And/or La(III). written by Y-C. Zhang and published by . This book was released on 1987 with total page 18 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Samples of stabilized cubic zirconium oxide were prepared containing rhodium(III), lanthanum(III) and both La(III) and Rh(III). The properties of these compounds were studied by x-ray analysis and temperature programmed reduction. These studies indicated that the cubic phase becomes stabilized with the incorporation of La(III) or Rh(III) into the ZrO2 structure.
